Dubai: Li Auto has entered the UAE market for the first time, launching its flagship L9 full-size premium SUV. The six-seat model arrives with the backing of official distributor Al Fahim Motors.

It introduces an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) powertrain to the segment, combining a petrol generator with electric motors for a total output of 563hp and a claimed electric-only range of up to 420 km, along with several smart features.

While both L9 versions share the same powertrain, the Livis adds a considerable amount of chassis and driver-assistance technology. Both models come with steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, and 'Magic Carpet' air suspension. The rear wheels can turn by up to seven degrees, which helps reduce the turning circle to a surprisingly nimble 5.3 metres.

However, the Livis model adds an 800V active suspension system and a more advanced electronic chassis for superior ride control. It also doubles the computing power with two M100 chips instead of one and adds four LiDAR sensors to its sensor suite, which the Ultra model does not have.

Li Auto will be represented in the UAE by Al Fahim Motors, an established automotive group. The first retail location is planned for Dubai. The company has also announced plans for more than two official retail and service centres across the UAE, providing a network for sales and maintenance.
