Honda Sedans in the UAE in 2026: City, Civic and Accord Compared
Abu Dhabi: It is quite evident that sedans have lost considerable ground to SUVs among new car buyers in the UAE in recent years. This shows the strong preference for SUVs across market segments. As buyers want SUVs, most brands are offering more choices by expanding their portfolios. But sedans still continue to attract buyers and account for a significant volume of the market.

The City
The City is Honda’s lowest-priced car here, available in three priced variants: the DX at AED 67,900, the LX at AED 72,900, and the LX Sport at AED 75,900. All use the same 1.5L petrol engine with 119 hp and 145 Nm. The gearbox is a CVT with paddle shifters, and Honda gives an official fuel figure of 21.1 km/L.
The boot is large for the class at 510 litres. The wheelbase is 2,600 mm, which gives decent rear legroom. However, ground clearance is only 165 mm, so take care around high kerbs and speed humps.
In terms of features, it starts better than you might expect. Even the DX has an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, cruise control, keyless entry, and push-button start. The LX adds automatic climate control, 15-inch alloys, a rear camera, and remote engine start, which is handy in a hot Abu Dhabi car park in August. The LX Sport has 16-inch alloys and paddle shifters.
While the price is good, what you get is modest power. It should serve you well as a daily commuter sedan in Sharjah or Abu Dhabi, and it keeps running costs low. If you often drive on the highway to Ras Al Khaimah with a full car, you may want more pulling power.
The Civic
The Civic costs more but feels like a significant step up. Available in two variants, the LX costs AED 99,900, and the Sport costs AED 129,900. Both have a 1.5L turbo engine producing 180 hp. That is about 60 hp more than the City, and torque is 240 Nm, available from low revs, which helps on the highway. There are three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
The car is 4,674 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm. The fuel tank holds 47 litres.
The cabin feels quite contemporary and modern. The top variant has a 10.2-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. Even the LX has leather seats, automatic climate control, and cruise control.
The Sport variant gets a sunroof, paddle shifters, a wireless charger, a rear camera, and ambient lighting. It also brings lane departure warning, lane tracing assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, and forward collision warning.
The jump between the two variants is AED 30,000. Much of it goes towards additional equipment, including safety and driver-assistance features. The Civic Type R is a separate high-performance hatchback, and we are not including it in this comparison.
The Accord
The Accord is the largest of the three, more premium, and well-equipped. It is 4,971 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,830 mm, and the boot holds 473 litres. The 1.5L turbo petrol makes 194 hp and 260 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT gearbox.
It is available in three variants: LX at AED 114,900, EX at AED 124,900, and EX-L at AED 139,900. The Accord LX costs only AED 15,000 more than the Civic LX. It is a bigger car with more power and more space. For buyers with a family or a long daily drive, that gap is worth a test drive.
Honda Sensing is standard on all variants. That means collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and road departure mitigation. It is the one sedan in this group where driver aids do not depend on the variant you pick.
In terms of technology, the Accord has a 10.2-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built in. Wireless Apple CarPlay arrives from the EX. The EX also gets a sunroof, 18-inch alloys, dual-zone climate control, and a 12-speaker Bose system. The LX has four speakers and 17-inch alloys. The top variant adds leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless charging, front and rear parking sensors, and a head-up display.
Accord hybrid
The Accord e is the most advanced sedan Honda sells here. It uses a 2.0L petrol engine with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery. Combined output is 204 hp and 335 Nm. The gearbox is an e-CVT. Honda claims 24.9 km/L, against 17.3 km/L for the petrol version. Real-life figures may be different, but better fuel efficiency is one big advantage of a hybrid.
The hybrid starts at AED 155,900 and is approximately AED 16,000 more than the top petrol Accord, which makes it worth considering.
Key takeaway
Anyone looking for a sedan today should consider Honda, which offers quite a few capable and proven options across key segments. Select the City if price and running costs matter most. Go with the Civic if you want more power and a more modern cabin. Pick the Accord if you need space or drive long distances every day, and the e if you want to cut fuel costs.
You get to choose based on your needs and budget. All of them have been around for a long time, which clearly improves their appeal and also inspires confidence in ownership.
