Jetour T2

The cabin of the 2024 Jetour T2 balances rugged aesthetics with premium bits. The overall design is rather industrial with visible bolts and rivets. It's complemented by the plush leather seats and the panoramic sunroof. The clean dashboard is dominated by a huge 15.6-inch central touchscreen infotainment unit. There's also a 10.25 instrument cluster display. There's a central console that consists of the drive-mode selector and gear profiles. The tactile climate control buttons enhance the driving experience. The cabin is heavily borrowed from sports car themes. The black-red leather seats get suede inserts and one-piece seat backs. The dashboard panels are textured and look like carbon. The inner door handles are leather. Hard plastics have been widely used in the cabin, particularly on the door insides. Most of the high-contact surfaces are soft-touch.

The 2024 Jetour T2 has a boxy design that instantly reminds one of old-school SUVs. The silhouette is both form and function. The car comes with an imposing fascia with an oversized grille, all-LED headlights, and lower guards. The rugged appeal is visible from all angles. In profile, the car gets square-off lines, roof rails, and 20-inch alloy wheels with bulging arches. There's a striking swing-open tailgate that has a high-tech light bar stretched across the distance. The high ground clearance underscores the car's off-road capabilities and forges a strong first impression. The entire design seems to be heavily inspired by the Land Rover Defender and the Jeep Wrangler. The Jetour T2's build quality is solid. 

Thanks to the multi-link rear suspension and double-wishbone front unit, the 2024 Jetour T2 offers a comfortable ride even on the most challenging terrain. The cabin itself is spacious with a lot of headroom and legroom. The seats have nice padding and come with lumbar support. This reduces travelling fatigue during long trips. The front seats are electrically adjustable and get ventilation. the dual-zone climate control cools the car in minutes, courtesy of the rear air-conditioning vents. Despite its off-road nature, the 2024 Jetour T2 performs nicely on regular roads. The suspension system absorbs most of the bumps and thuds. There's some body roll though because of the high ground clearance. But that doesn't upset travelling comfort. Sound insulation should have been better as outside traffic noise enters the cabin. 

The 2024 Jetour T2 is hauled by a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 250 PS/390 Nm. The motor is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch and a sixth-generation BorgWarner all-wheel-drive-system. The T2 is a fully off-road focussed car and takes its job seriously. No terrain is too difficult for it to negotiate. Even on highways, the car performs admirably. The steering is a bit on the stiffer side and negotiating sharp corners need some effort. The wide windscreen offers a commanding view of the road ahead to the driver. 

The 2024 Jetour T2 comes with an impressive set of safety equipment and driver-assist features. It includes multiple airbags, a child seat latch, an antilock braking system, a central door lock, electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control, emergency brake assist, and stability control. There's a rearview camera and sensors that assist in parking. Other features include hill-start assist, electronic micromotion cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning. All these make the 2024 Jetour T2 a very safe car.

The 2024 Jetour T2 is an attractive option in the Emirates off-road SUV segment. It offers a nice blend of style, capability, and performance. But Jetour is still not an established brand and its long-term reliability is yet to be established. The car may not have much of a resale value yet. But it's still a worthy car for those hunting for a rugged SUV on a budget.
