Jetour Dashing

The overall interior layout of the Jetour Dashing is clean and contemporary. The cabin has a multi-layered design for the dashboard, with soft-touch black plastics at the top, a textured bronze layer in the middle, and a white leatherette layer at the bottom. The door panels and leatherette seats are also finished in white, which looks premium but tends to get dirty quickly.

The Jetour Dashing has a unique-looking two-spoke multi-functional, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel with a gloss black theme for the spokes and an octagonal centre boss, behind which there is a minimalist LCD screen for basic data display of the instrument console. The door panels also have tiny LCD screens neatly integrated within them, which read out outside temperature and in-cabin filtration data. 

Catching one’s attention here in the cabin is the massive 15.6-inch rectangular touchscreen infotainment system, which also serves as the window to operate the dual-zone automatic climate control and the 8-speaker Hi-Fi sound system. Below the infotainment system, there are sleek trapezoidal AC vents, while the centre tunnel between the front seats has premium-looking bronze surrounds with cup holders, a wireless charging pad, a transmission knob and an electronic parking brake placed on them.

The sports seats of the Jetour Dashing are electronically adjustable, heated and ventilated, with the driver’s seat also having height adjustment and memory functions. The other features that make the cabin of the Jetour Dashing feel premium and practical are ambient lighting, front and rear centre armrests, 60:40 split rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate and more. 

The Jetour Dashing's curvaceous design and slightly slanted bonnet might make one believe that it is more of a crossover than an SUV, which is true to some extent. However, the high ground clearance, aggressive front and rear profiles, and heightened bonnet give it a strong road presence.

The Jetour Dashing welcomes one with its bold-looking fascia comprising of a massive, imposing front grille, which has a segmented design with large gloss black inserts that are spread across the width of the front profile. The corners of this fascia are occupied by vertically stacked LED projectors for the main headlamps, while the daytime running LED strips are placed on the upper corners of this fascia, on the edges of the bonnet. 

The side profile of the Jetour Dashing is where all the curves showcase their magic, with the SUV getting a nice flowing bonnet and roofline and smooth curves through the door panels and fenders. Adding more character to the side design of the Dashing is a broad hump over the rear wheels and muscular cladding over wheel arches and the lower part of door panels. The large 20-inch machined alloy wheels, door-mounted rearview mirrors, and chrome surrounds for the window panels add a premium touch to the side profile of the Jetour Dashing.

The rear profile of the Jetour Dashing has wishbone-shaped combination LED tail lamps, which are placed horizontally on the sides of the boot lid. While the rear windscreen of the Jetour Dashing has a raked design with a sporty-looking roof spoiler, the boot lid has a trapezoidal housing for the license plate. The sporty-looking rear diffuser of the Jetour Dashing has sleek reflectors on its upper corners. 

The Jetour Dashing has an independent suspension setup at both ends, comprising Macpherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear. With a plush suspension setup, the Jetour Dashing feels supple at both lower and higher speeds. The three driving modes on offer in the Jetour Dashing – Economy, Comfort and Sport – also deliver a specified driving experience depending on the driver’s preferences. 

The only engine option Jetour has made available in the Dashing is a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard. This engine delivers 197 bhp of maximum power and 290 Nm of torque, and while it feels strong on paper, the real-world performance could have been better. 

The Jetour Dashing has a plethora of safety features and driving assistance aids, the long list of which includes adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, high beam assist, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lateral collision warning, blind spot detection system, backward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, 360-degree parking camera and driving record function. Other basic safety features on offer include ABS, EBD, brake assist, six airbags, traction control, electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, front and rear parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system.
