Which Mitsubishi SUV Fits Your Budget in the UAE in 2026?
Abu Dhabi: In the UAE, new car sales are dominated by SUVs, as most buyers now prefer them over sedans. There are several practical reasons to own an SUV: the space and higher ground clearance are among the top. Not long ago, the preferred choice was established Japanese or Korean brands, which now start to change as Chinese brands take over the market in a big way.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What is the cheapest Mitsubishi SUV in the UAE in 2026?
The ASX compact SUV starts from AED 53,900, which is the most affordable Mitsubishi you can buy right now.Which Mitsubishi SUVs seat seven?
You have multiple options for a seven-seater, including the Destinator, the Outlander, and the Montero Sport. While the market is a mix of brands, the Japanese one still leads the way due to its familiarity and long-running record in the Emirates. Anyone looking for a brand-new SUV in the market will find that Toyota, Honda, and Nissan are the obvious first choices, but Mitsubishi is also a strong contender that now offers a range worth considering.
Local partner Al Habtoor Motors has sold Mitsubishi cars in the UAE for more than 40 years. While most buyers know the brand for the Pajero, Montero Sport, and L200 pickup, it has evolved a lot in recent years. What this means is the SUV range has many more choices for every budget and segment. Prices start as low as AED 53,900 for an entry-level model and can exceed AED 100,000 for a three-row SUV.
Generally, three key elements decide the purchase decision: how many seats you need, how much power you want, and what monthly payment you can carry. To know it all, read our detailed feature before heading to the showroom.

Most affordable pick
If you are moving from a used car to a brand-new one or this is your first SUV, the ASX is your most affordable Mitsubishi. Starting at AED 53,900, that means a monthly payment of AED 990, but that comes with terms. And you need to work out with the dealers, with personal loans and offers for secure the best EMI.
Then comes the Eclipse Cross, which costs more, starting from AED 69,900. It uses a 1.5L turbo petrol engine that makes 147 hp. That is enough for city driving in Dubai or Sharjah and for the Dubai to Abu Dhabi run. The top GLS variant costs close to AED 107,000 and is advertised for AED 1,165 a month.
Now you must know that the same Eclipse Cross, priced at AED 69,900, is the base variant, while the top-end model goes all the way up to AED 107,000. You must work out what you need and how much you can afford.
But these entry-level SUVs are good options for small families or individuals who are using them for daily commutes or occasional work trips.
Seven-seat choices
When it comes to families, most prefer space for people and luggage. And so the seven-seater makes the most sense, which is pretty clear with the growing sales. This segment has become highly popular in the market right now.
Mitsubishi knows this well, so it has expanded its offering to cover a range of buyers and make its presence more visible.
The Destinator is the newest model that has arrived in the UAE. It went on sale in February 2026, and it seats seven and starts at AED 69,900, with the top variant at AED 97,900. Clearly targeted at families looking for three rows and a modest price, this is where to start.
- Midline, AED 69,900: 8-inch screen, fabric seats, rear camera, and basic driver aids.
- Highline, about AED 79,900: 12.3-inch screen, wireless charging, push-button start, and blind spot warning.
- Premier, AED 97,900: panoramic sunroof, synthetic leather, 360-degree camera, and the full driver-aid package.
The Outlander is another option in the seven-seat configuration. It comes with a 2.5L petrol engine with 181 hp and 245 Nm. It is the most advanced Mitsubishi in this group. The 12.3-inch digital driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10.8-inch head-up display all appear on the listing. Higher variants offer Yamaha audio, three-zone climate control, a hands-free power tailgate, and a panoramic roof.
On some variants, Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control, or S-AWC, sends power to the wheels that need it. There are six drive modes: Normal, Eco, Tarmac, Gravel, Snow, and Mud. Mud mode is not available on 2WD versions.
Be careful with the Outlander. The base Premium variant starts from AED 79,900, but the top variants cost far more, and the price list goes up to AED 126,900.
Higher-price options
Those buyers looking for a fully loaded, higher-segment Mitsubishi SUV have the Montero Sport as the tougher choice. It comes with a ladder frame, which is the strong steel base that pickup trucks use. It seats seven and runs a 3.0L petrol engine.
The cheapest version is the GLX 2WD at AED 89,900. If you plan to drive on sand or rough tracks, you need 4WD, and the GLS 4WD goes up to AED 135,000, depending on the list. Mitsubishi notes it is an AED 1,560 a month payment.
But be clear about this before you buy, because a 2WD Montero Sport looks like an off-roader but cannot do what the 4WD can.
Safety
Safety features vary a lot, and you need to take a closer look at it variant wise.
- ASX: Stability and traction control, ABS, and hill start assist on all variants. Forward collision mitigation and lane departure warning are available on the top variants. Blind spot warning on the High Line.
- Eclipse Cross: The base has driver and passenger airbags, stability control, and hill start assist. The GLS adds side, curtain, and knee airbags, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, and collision mitigation braking.
- Destinator: Six airbags, ABS, and stability control. Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing includes forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic high beam. The Destinator scored five stars in ASEAN NCAP. That test is from Southeast Asia, so treat it as a guide, not a UAE rating.
- Outlander: The listing shows adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, driver attention alert, front and rear parking sensors, and a multi-around monitor.
- Montero Sport: Safety grows with the variant, as above.

Xpander
Moving from the core SUV to a more practical and functional MPV in the Mitsubishi portfolio. Here you get the Xpander, a seven-seater, which means a people carrier rather than a classic SUV.
Mitsubishi’s own offer shows AED 59,900, but you need to check the exact variant-wise price at a local dealer to get proper clarity.
Pajero
The legendary Pajero, which is absent from the showroom, makes its return in a new avatar. While Mitsubishi showed the new model in September 2026, official sale is yet to start. Mitsubishi has confirmed that the Middle East is part of its global rollout from fiscal 2027, which begins in April 2027, but it has not confirmed a UAE launch date or price.
And so we don’t know the price until its UAE debut is confirmed.
Wide choice across segments
- Most affordable: ASX, from AED 53,900.
- Small family, city driving: Eclipse Cross, from AED 69,900.
- Seven seats, lower price: Destinator, from AED 69,900.
- Seven seats, more space, and equipment: Outlander, from AED 79,900.
- Weekend desert trips and towing: Montero Sport 4WD, from about AED 110,000.
Our verdict
What's for sure is that Mitsubishi has clearly expanded its portfolio in the market to take on competition. And to do that, SUVs are the real deal now, and hence there are multiple models on sale targeting a variety of buyers’ needs.
Anyone looking for a seven-seat car should consider the Destinator, as it is the most affordable option. If you need strength for sand and heavy loads, the Montero Sport 4WD is the right tool, but it costs more. If you only need a five-seat car for city use, the ASX or Eclipse Cross will do the job.
Do one more thing before you decide: try to get a written quote for the exact variant you want. Prices on the Mitsubishi line-up differ from list to list, and try to work out the best deal for your next brand-new SUV.
