2019 GMC Yukon arrives in the Middle East

ABU DHABI: 2019 GMC Yukon arrives in the Middle East with premium touches, features, materials, and new color options. It adds more space inside the cabin with power-folding third and second-row seats. This means now you do not need to worry about the extended cargo.

Available in four variants, Yukon, XL, Denali and Denali XL, the 2019 GMC Yukon gets bold looks, projector-beam headlamps, and dominating front grille that comes garnished in chrome. At the rear, it gets a hands-free tailgate and an integrated spoiler. The aluminium hood and liftgate helps in improving efficiency while the glasses on doors and windshield, come with lamination for improved quietness.

The 2019 GMC Yukon SLE and SLT ride on 18-inch wheels and Denali on 20-inch as standard, however, there is an option to upgrade to 22-inch wheels. The SUV is available in three color options - Dark Sky Metallic, Pepperdust Metallic, and Smokey Quartz Metallic.

Under the hood, the 2019 GMC Yukon SLE and SLT models get EcoTec3 V8 5.2-litre engine with Active Fuel Management and direct injection system. While the Denali models get an exclusive 6.2-litre engine that pumps out a max power of 426 PS and a peak torque of 624 Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

Moving inside the premium SUV, there is an 8-inch touchscreen centre console that features Apple CarPlay. It also gets Yukon’s next-gen IntelliLink system that enables you to connect your smart device for navigation, entertainment and hands-free text messaging.

Additionally, remote vehicle start, rear view camera, tri-zone auto climate control and BOSE Centerpoint Surround premium audio system come as standard with all the variants. The door panels, centre console and instrument cluster are aggrandized with the use of soft-touch materials. The front heated/ventilated bucket seats of GMC Yukon are wrapped in perforated leather. The leather-wrapped steering wheel comes with a heating function.

On the safety front, the 2019 GMC Yukon gets rear cross traffic alert, forward collision alert, adaptive cruise control with auto front braking, and side-blind zone alert as standard. On the higher variants, you’d find the Enhanced Driver Alert Package that comes with features like Lane Keep Assist, IntelliBeam headlamp technology that automatically turns on/off high-beam headlamps and continues to remain on until it detects the approaching vehicle’s headlights or taillamps. Also, there is the segment’s first Front Centre Air Bag on higher trims for added protection for front occupant and driver.
