Toyota Crown Landscape debuts in Japan targeting off-road enthusiasts

ABU DHABI: Toyota stopped the production of the full-size Avalon sedan in 2022 replacing it with the Crown positioned between SUV and sedan. Now, Toyota has come up with the Landscape edition for Japan, featuring an optional roof rack, higher ground clearance, and all-terrain tyres, emphasizing its off-road capabilities.

The Crown Crossover Landscape features 18-inch rugged wheels wrapped in all-terrain 245/60 tyres and comes with one-inch lift. The vehicle sports matte finish beefier wheel arches with exposed rivets and red mud flaps attached behind the wheels. This version emphasizes an adventurous aesthetic and off-road capability.

The Crown Crossover Landscape also comes with a tow hitch that has the capability to pull up to 1653 pounds. It has gloss black accents and Urban Khaki paint. It offers a roof rack and features rear fog lights. Inside, the cabin has not been changed much, with a dashboard trim piece that displays "Landscape" branding etched in.

The Crown Crossover Landscape comes with the Hybrid Max powertrain and is equipped with a rear axle-mounted electric motor and a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing a combined 340 horsepower.

In Japan, it is available at a starting price of $45,000 (AED 165,267). The Toyota Crown Landscape is being produced at the Tsutsumi plant of Toyota in Japan, where the production of other Crown models is also carried out. This model most likely won't be offered in the UAE.
