Chery gives a sneak peek of Omoda 7 ahead of its debut at 2024 Auto China

ABU DHABI: Chery gives a sneak peek of its newest model, the Omoda 7, which will be launched globally on April 28, 2024, at Auto China in Beijing. The Omoda 7 is positioned between the upcoming Omoda 9 and Omoda 5. 

According to the brand, the upcoming Omoda 7 will be larger than the Omoda 5 and will shake up the larger crossover SUV segment with its immense potential and capabilities. The side profile showcases a detailed grille, sharp headlamps, and a black-colored roof. From the teaser, it is evident that the Omoda 7 has crossover SUV features like black plastic claddings and roof rails.

It is expected that the upcoming Omoda 7 will be equipped with a 1.6 T-GDI engine producing 145kW/290Nm, similar to the JAECOO J7 and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. A plug-in hybrid variant is also expected in the future.

While Chinese automaker Chery has not provided any details about the Omoda 7’s features or mechanical specs, it's speculated to be the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro’s sleek counterpart. 

The SUV lineup of Chery currently includes eight models, including offerings from sub-brand Omoda, JAECOO, and Exeed. With the upcoming Omoda 9 and 7, Chery’s lineup will expand to ten, providing consumers with a wide range of selection of vehicles.
