Fastback Flair Meets Executive Calm

The MG 7 is the bigger car. It measures 4,884 mm long on a 2,778 mm wheelbase, against 4,757 mm and 2,770 mm for the Arrizo 8. Its fastback roofline, bold grille and integrated rear spoiler give it a sporty stance. The Arrizo 8 goes for a smoother, business-class look with dual-lens LED lights and welcome lighting.

Chery calls its layout a wave-like surrounding cabin. It adds a six-way electric adjustment, a yacht-style gear lever and atmosphere lighting. The MG 7 angles everything toward the driver. 

You get a flat-bottom steering wheel, firm sculpted sport seats and multicolour ambient lighting. Meanwhile, the sloping roof can squeeze rear headroom. Climate control matters when summer turns a parked car into an oven. Both cars have automatic AC. The MG 7 LUX trim adds a cooled glove box.

One Giant Screen or Two Sharp Ones

The Arrizo 8 uses a 24.6-inch duplex surrounding screen with a 540° panoramic image. It is also Chery's first model with 50W wireless charging. The MG 7 splits the job. A 10.25-inch cluster sits beside a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Chery lists 18 ADAS functions. MG does not publish a count. It focuses on chassis control instead, with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, adaptive suspension, ESP and braking assist. The LUX trim adds adaptive cruise, forward collision warning and lane assist, per Zigwheels.

Our Take: Which Sedan Should You Buy

Choose the Arrizo 8 if you want a plug-in hybrid, a tech-heavy cabin and a lower price. It saves AED 20,100 and brings more driver aids. For most commuters, the Arrizo 8 would be our recommendation. Moreover, buyers can also go with the MG 7 if driving enjoyment is a priority. . It is bigger, quicker and sharper to look at. 

If you choose the MG 7, the 2.0T would be our recommendation, as the 1.5T misses some of what makes this car special. Final suggestion: pick the Arrizo 8 for value and tech. Pick the MG 7 2.0T for driving thrills. If the budget stays near AED 80,000, these five alternatives at the Arrizo 8's price are worth a look.
