Ford Mustang gets retro design package on its 60th anniversary

ABU DHABI: Ford introduces a limited edition special package to mark the Mustang’s 60th anniversary. It pays homage to the retro roots of the iconic model, first introduced at the New York World’s Fair in 1964.

The 60th Anniversary package is exclusively available to GT Premium models that are available in convertible or coupe variants, with an option between a 10-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. 

The limited paint options include Vapor blue, Race red, and Wimbledon white with silver mirror caps. Interior themes comprise Carmine red, Space gray, or black Onyx, alongside top-notch trim pieces like the original Mustang, badges, modern replicas, and an attractive grille mesh design that will remind you of the 1964 show car.

Additional design updates in the 60th Anniversary package include 20-inch wheels with bright accents and a dark gray finish with red aluminum center caps that are similar to classic Mustang wheels. The package also comes with bespoke smoked headlights that further enhance the grille details. You can select either Vermillion red or Iconic silver rocker panel graphics.

Ford will produce the Mustang 60th Anniversary package in a limited number i.e. only 1965 units, each embellished with serialized plaques. 

Ford will start taking orders for the 60th Anniversary package in the upcoming summer and deliveries will start in the fourth quarter of the year. The automaker has not disclosed pricing details for the package.
