The GTD will be hand-assembled in Markham, Canada, at Multimatic's facilities where the Ford GT was built. This new offering is the Mustang GT3 road-legal version, all set to compete in the upcoming Le Mans race. It falls into IMSA Sportscar Championship's GTD category, adhering to the FIA's GT3 regulations.

Ford says it aims to complete a sub-7-minute lap around the Nurburgring, positioning GTD in the league of the most capable road cars like the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Manthey Racing, Mercedes-AMG One, and the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

The GTD model features a supercharged 5.2-litre V-8 engine equipped in the earlier generation Shelby GT500. As per Ford, it can rev up to 7,500 rpm and produce over 800 horsepower. Ford has developed a dry-sump oil system that is the first to be integrated into a road-legal Mustang.

This Mustang doesn't have a trunk. Instead, you'll find the hydraulic control system, GTD's semi-active suspension, and the cooling system for the transaxle beneath the decklid cover. Like the Ford GT, it uses Multimatic's sophisticated adaptive spool valve damper technology with height control and hydraulically controlled dual spring rates.

Ford is planning to build a limited number of these machines. We hope to see the street-legal GTD in the UAE soon.
