Porsche 911 Overview

The Porsche 911 has been updated for the 2025 model year. The biggest change is the shuffling of powertrains, including the new T-Hybrid system in the GTS version. That aside, the exterior gets several updates, including new wheels, bumpers, mirrors, lights, and aerodynamic aids. The front fascia of the 2025 Porsche 911 gets five vertical louvers that bracket the lower front air intake. The louvers seem adjustable to facilitate better cooling of brakes and to divert air to radiators. The cabin is usual Porsche and now gets a new 12.6-inch instrument cluster.  The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) gets a 10.9-inch display.

How much is the price of the Porsche 911 in the UAE?

The iconic Porsche 911 has has been a benchmark in the high-performance sports car segment and it's unlikely to change. The 911 has evolved over the years and Porsche engineers have created something that's truly timeless. It's also one of the most expensive sports cars available for regular buying. The 2024 Porsche 911 has a starting price of AED 461,100.

How many variants are there in the Porsche 911 range?

The 2024 Porsche 911 is available in multiple versions and in three engine options.

Which is the most value-for-money variant of the Porsche 911?

The Porsche 911 Dakar is the most value-for-money trim. It comes with a more powerful engine and a number of additional features over other models.

What features does the Porsche 911 get?

All models of the 2024 Porsche 911 have a basic low, wide, and rounded design that has defined the car for generations. The legendary rounded shape goes back to the beginning. The present-generation Porsche was launched in 2018 and the car now looks more muscular and beautiful. The round headlights lend a classy look. The headlights are supplemented with LED lights and includes a full-width bar at the back. Traditional cues in the 2024 Porsche 911 include rounded fenders and the large rear-haunches. It forges an impression that the car is ready to pounce. Majority of the variants come with an active rear spoiler that's deployed at highway speeds. The Targa models get a hardtop while the Cabriolets expectedly get a soft top. Both are electrically operated and work at speeds of up to 30mph.

The 2024 Porsche 911 gets an all-new body that's much more aluminium-intensive. All exterior panels now get more aluminium and there's no narrow-body option. It’s one size fits all. The wider-hipped back-end is mated to a new, wider-track front.

The cabin of the 2024 Porsche 911 gets a more radical overhaul. The broad sweeps of architecture are still there but everything is new. All seats are upholstered in genuine leather. The car is now a two-seater. Two seats can be added at the back at no extra cost. The central console gets a lot of piano-black trim that's prone to smudges. The dashboard gets a 10.9-inch infotainment unit connected to a 12-speaker Bose audio system. The voice command function is integrated into the multifunction steering wheel. There are not many storage options in the 911's cabin.

How spacious is the Porsche 911?

With 4,519 mm length, 2,024 mm width, and 1,298 mm height, the 2024 Porsche 911 has attractive proportions. The entry-level seats get four-way electrical adjustment and most people will be able to find a comfortable driving position. The higher models get 14-way electric sports seats or even better the 18-way Porsche Adaptive Sports Seats Plus. These seats come with memory function and lumbar support. The seating position in the 2024 Porsche 911 is a bit hunkered down from the steering wheel. But the pedals are perfectly positioned to ease driving.

The windscreen pillars of the 2024 Porsche 911 are slim and offers superb forward visibility. The top of the headlights gets distinctive bulges and lends a clear idea about the exact location of the front wheels. Rear visibility is great too, courtesy of the deep rear window that allows easy reversing.

The 132-litre cargo area is housed in the nose of the car.

What engine and transmission options are available?

The 2024 Porsche 911 Carrera entry-level model is hauled by a twin-turbocharged, six-cylinder, 3.0-litre petrol engine that produces 380PS/450Nm. The motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic. The powertrain is among the most efficient and acceleration is incredibly quick. Both the Carrera and Carrera S models are available with optional four-wheel-drive. Traction is superb on the rear-wheel-drive models and the four-wheel-drive isn't really required.

The 2024 Porsche 911 gets adaptive suspension across all models as standard. The stiffness of the suspension can be altered according to the road. In the standard Carrera and Carrera S, the regular setting works well around town. It absorbs the sting from sharp-edge bumps and passengers don't get jostled around. The 2024 Porsche 911's body control becomes surprisingly loose on open roads. The Sports mode lend a smoother ride. The steering wheel is perfectly weighted and is immediately responsive.

What’s the mileage of the Porsche 911?

The real-time mileage is around 9kmpl. The 2024 Porsche 911 was never meant to be a fuel-efficient car and doesn't try to be one. It's a car for all-out sporty performance.

How safe is the Porsche 911?

The 2024 Porsche 911 comes with a number of driver-assist equipment. It includes a standard reverse parking camera, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and night vision. The satellite-based navigation is optional. Other safety apparatus includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and automated emergency braking.

How many colour options are there for the Porsche 911?

The 2024 Porsche 911 is available in 16 colours. These include Miami Blue, Graphite Blue, Rhodium Silver Metallic, Night Blue Metallic, Carmine Red, Racing Yellow, and Lava Orange among others.

Should you buy the Porsche 911?

The 2024 Porsche 911 is not only an iconic sports car but also a part of automobile history. The pride of owning a Porsche 911 can't be compared with any other car.

What are my alternatives?

The 2024 Porsche 911 faces competition from the Audi RS 5 Coupe, Audi R8 Coupe, and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. The 911 is considered as the segment leader.

Other things to consider

The 2024 Porsche 911 is among the most expensive sports cars, usually loved by the rich and famous. But it still undercuts many of its rivals in the international market. The 911 is certainly not a daily commuting car and is imported as a fully built-up unit. The Turbo and Turbo S models are more expensive considering the features they offer.

Porsche 911 Expert Review

The Porsche 911 is one of the all-time legendary icons of the automotive world, which doesn’t need any introduction. The current 992 iteration of the Porsche 911 is the most modern and tech-packed take on the legendary sportscar, which is regarded as one of the bests when it comes to driving appeal. Like all the other Porsche models, one can customize Porsche 911 as per his/her choice, with several customization options available for exterior, interior, and component upgrades.

Read More Read Less

Porsche 911 Interior & Features

While Porsche has not changed the exterior of the 911 drastically compared to its predecessor, the cabin of the sportscar now looks tech-packed and modern to date. Porsche has nicely played with the good choices of full-TFT screen displays for the instrument console while keeping the centrally-placed analogue tachometer intact – a tradition which is followed by all the Porsches.

The overall design of the cabin looks simple and classy, with the almost vertical design for the upper layer of the dashboard giving it a sense of width and modernity. This upper layer houses a wide touchscreen infotainment system in the middle in an almost vertical fashion, while the lower centre console looks minimalist with toggle-like buttons for the automatic climate control. The centre tunnel looks wide and high, and looks premium with the array of nicely arranged controls and buttons along with gloss black and brushed aluminium touches everywhere.

911 Exterior

In all these years since its inception, the Porsche 911 has been retaining the iconic, minimalist design derived from the-then Beetle, which has evolved nicely without losing its essence and originality. In the current iteration, it looks very modern and classy, with the minimalist design going well with the modern design cues and elements.

At the front, the Porsche 911 continues to have the rounded headlamp housings positioned in a slanted manner. These headlamp housings now get all-LED projectors along with quad daytime running LEDs within them. The front bumper looks sleek with a large air dam in the middle, with the Porsche 911 does not get a functional grille between the headlamps or on the bottom of the bonnet. The large air dam, which spans across the width of the front bumper, is partitioned into three parts while having gloss black highlights on the corners. The bonnet lines are smooth and make the Porsche 911 look aerodynamic.

The side profile of the Porsche 911 continues to have the sleek, smooth and simple profile, which has been the identity of the sportscar for ages. The steeply falling roofline gives it a traditional stance of a coupe, while the two-door design with door-mounted mirrors and the clean profile adds to its sporty elegance. The wheels get smooth-looking haunches, with the Porsche 911 getting a wide number of choices for alloy wheels.

At the back, the Porsche 911 once again impresses with its clean minimalism, as the sportscar looks edgy and impressive with the continuous LED bar joining the slim-looking LED tail lamps. This LED bar gives it a sense of width, giving it a nicely planted stance, along with the muscular-looking bumper with a sporty rear diffuser. There is a unique brake light at the bottom of the rear windscreen, which adds to the visual drama of the Porsche 911.

Porsche 911 Ride & Handling

The most highly-praised aspect of the Porsche 911 has always been its driving dynamics, and this new model follows the tradition with its suite of electronics and excellent hardware under the skin. The Porsche 911 comes with Porsche Active Suspension Management with sports suspension, Porsche Stability Management and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, all of which contribute to keeping it sure-footed across all speeds, corners and stretches.

911 Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Porsche 911 is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, which is one of the most powerful and high-revving six-cylinder engines currently in the automotive world. Available with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, this engine is capable of producing 385 PS of maximum power output and 450 Nm of maximum torque output. The Porsche 911 is capable of touching a top speed of 293 kmph, while doing the 0-100 kmph run in 4.2 seconds. Normal, Sport Plus, Wet and Individual are the four driving modes, which can be controlled via a small knob on the steering wheel.

Porsche 911 Braking & Safety

The Porsche 911 is complete with all the safety features which are usually found in a car as expensive as it, such as airbags all around, ABS with EBD, brake assist, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system and a whole suite of ADAS functions.

911 Verdict

The Porsche 911 is a dream on wheels, with nothing faulty in the way it performs or handles, thus fulfilling the requirements of a sports car with absolute ease. It is an expensive affair, but so is every sports car out there. But in all aspects, the Porsche 911 scores heavily, which makes it a near-perfect car.
