Jetour X90 Plus

Step inside the Jetour X90 Plus, and you will be pleased by the high-quality cabin of the SUV. Finished in a dual-tone black and burgundy leather upholstery, the Jetour X90 Plus feels premium with the presence of a soft-touch leather IP finish for the dashboard’s upper layer and door panels. Adding more elegance to the cabin are satin silver brushed aluminium inserts on the door panels, spokes of the multi-functional steering wheel and surrounds for the inner door handles, AC vents and lower centre console. 

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel of the Jetour X90 Plus, which is both tilt and telescopic adjustable, has a large full-TFT cockpit sitting within a stretched binnacle, which hoses 12.3-inch screens for the instrument console and touchscreen infotainment system. Below the hexagonal AC vents stretched horizontally, the lower centre console houses a 9.7-inch touchscreen for the controls of dual-zone automatic climate control and ride and drive mode adjustments. 

The lower centre console here also accommodates a stubby transmission lever, electronic parking brake and drive mode controller knob, all of which get satin silver surrounds and inserts. Placed beside this panel within the lower centre console is a wireless charging pad. The cabin of the Jetour X90 Plus is further equipped with additional features like powered front seats, memory, seat height adjustment and ventilation function for the driver’s seat, rear AC vents, panoramic sunroof, 8-speaker SONY audio system, ambient lighting and more. 

For a premium midsize SUV, the Jetour X90 Plus has a commendable road presence, which only gets better with bold-looking elements and chrome bits all around. The overall stance and size of the Jetour X90 Plus are comparable to that of a traditional ladder-on-frame SUV and only get better with the premium elements all around. 

The front profile of the Jetour X90 Plus looks aggressive, with the large and imposing hexagonal grille in the middle. With chrome surrounds and chrome horizontal slats, this grille has a chrome bar at the top, which reads out the brand’s name and stretches over the Matrix LED headlamps. Accompanying this inverted L-shaped Matrix LED headlamps with LED DRLs are the large pentagonal housings for the quad LED fog lamps, which also get chrome inserts below them.

The Jetour X90 Plus looks imposing from the side, with this premium midsize SUV having large, multi-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels with body cladding over them, which are also present on the lower part of the door panels. There is a noticeable hump over the rear wheel arches, with the Jetour X90 Plus also having prominent creases flowing through the door panels and bonnet. The Jetour X90 Plus also has chrome garnish over the body cladding on the door panels, slim roof rails and a chrome finish for the upper part of the window frame.

The rear profile of the Jetour X90 Plus also has a premium design, with blacked-out curtains on the sides of the rear windscreen and a roof spoiler with an integrated LED brake light at the top. The SUV has horizontally laid large LED tail lamps with C-shaped LED inserts connected by a chrome garnish strip that flows between the centres of both tail lamps. Along with auxiliary lights, the rear bumper of the Jetour X90 Plus also has chrome-tipped exhaust ports. 

The independent suspension setup of the Jetour X90 Plus, which is a combination of Macpherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear, is tuned specially for soft and plush ride quality, with the light steering wheel only adding to the overall driving convenience. The Jetour X90 Plus is offered with drive modes like Normal, Sport and Eco, which offer decent feedback in sync with the power obtained from the engine. However, the light steering setup lacks the precision one would find in most of the other luxury SUVs of this size.

The standard powertrain offered in the Jetour X90 Plus is a combination of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Here, this engine claims a maximum power output of 254 bhp and a peak torque output of 390 Nm, which are good enough performance figures for an SUV of this size. The Jetour X90 Plus claims a top speed of 190 kmph and fuel efficiency of 8.1 kmpl.

Apart from the bare basic safety essentials for an SUV of its size and price, such as six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, vehicle stability control, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system and 360-degree parking camera, the Jetour X90 Plus also gets more sophisticated ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, intelligent high light assist, autonomous emergency braking and digital audio broadcasting. 

The Jetour X90 Plus is a well-equipped and appointed luxury SUV with quality elements and features and a smart road presence on the outside. However, it falls short in performance and driving dynamics compared to other luxury SUVs of its size.
