All-new Citroen C3 Aircross debuts in Europe; likely to get EV drivetrain

ABU DHABI: For the European market, Citroen has unveiled the new-generation C3 Aircross marking a milestone in the SUV lineup of the brand. It features a host of new features and an updated design language and shares some styling cues with the C3 Aircross sold in India. One significant enhancement is that it is available in a seven-seat layout, catering to those who need additional passenger capacity or larger families.

Built on the Smart Car platform, the new C3 Aircross shares lots of similarities with the Citroen C3 hatchback. It has an aggressive yet boxy design, boasting an updated Citroen logo, closed-off grille, and C-shaped headlamps. The SUV has a muscular bumper with black cladding. It sports unique C-shaped tail lamps and larger wheels and exudes a robust appeal. 

Inside, it comes with a 3-row seating layout that is very spacious. The cabin is equipped with modern amenities such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, head-up display, automatic headlights, a rear camera, and wireless phone charging, ensuring a convenient driving experience.

Citroen has not disclosed the new C3 Aircross powertrain details. However, it is expected that it will feature both electric and petrol options. The electric version will utilize a front-axle-mounted electric motor and will be equipped with a 44 kWh battery pack similar to the Euro-spec eC3 hatchback. Interestingly, before coming up with the petrol variant the brand is planning to introduce the electric version.
