Saudi Arabia's First Car Brand CEER Debuts Its EXOBOT EVs: What UAE Buyers Should Know

Dubai: CEER, Saudi Arabia's first homegrown automotive brand, officially unveiled its debut electric vehicles on 21 September 2026 in Riyadh, under the name EXOBOT. The announcement, carried by Xinhua and reported by The Star, confirms that the EXOBOT sedan and CEER EXOBOT SUV are just the opening chapter of a much bigger plan.

The statement was straightforward but the ambition behind it is not small.

• CEER's vehicles are designed and engineered locally, built to what the company calls the highest global standards
• The EXOBOT sedan and SUV are the first two of seven planned models over the next five years, including midsize and compact vehicles with different propulsion options
• CEER was established in 2022 by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund
• Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also chairs the PIF, called the launch a step toward building Saudi Arabia into a regional and global hub for the auto industry

Design, Interior and Tech: The Small Details Worth Knowing

Without a UAE unveiling yet, buyers should read this as a preview rather than a final spec sheet.

• Exterior: A wedge-shaped body with upward-opening "Shahin Wing" doors stretching 3 metres, plus Matrix LED headlights with 32 light bars
• Interior: Seats co-developed with SABELT, wireless charging, and a curved 8K, 48-inch "Digital Horizon" display running pillar to pillar
• Tech: Steer-by-wire with a steering yoke instead of a traditional wheel, along with rear-wheel steering for tighter manoeuvring
• Safety: CEER says the cabin keeps its structure and the windshield intact in 50 km/h frontal and side-impact tests

As an automotive expert, our honest read is that CEER has shown real intent rather than a concept-car fantasy. The range, power and charging numbers look competitive on paper, and the SABELT seats and BMW engineering behind the scenes suggest this is not a rushed project. Still, none of this is UAE-confirmed yet, with regional expansion expected to begin in 2028. There is no price yet, and a new brand always needs a few years to prove its service network.
