Geely Monjaro EM-i Launched in UAE from AED 130,900: 330 hp, 116 km Electric Range and 922 km Total Range

Abu Dhabi: Geely has brought its new Monjaro EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV to the UAE through its distributor AGMC, and pre-orders are now open. It is a five-seater with four trims, a large battery and a total range of up to 922 km.

Price and Availability in the UAE

The Monjaro EM-i comes in four variants, starting at AED 130,900 for the entry-level Max (front-wheel drive). The three higher trims all get all-wheel drive, and the range tops out at AED 149,900. For reference, the existing petrol Geely Monjaro is listed at AED 124,000 in our model guide. AGMC is also offering complimentary window tinting and extended battery coverage with the launch offer.

Engine and Performance

The Monjaro EM-i pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with Geely’s EM-i Super Hybrid system and a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The AWD version makes up to 330 hp and 667 Nm of torque, and Geely claims 0-100 km/h in 5.83 seconds. That is quick for a family SUV in this price band.

Electric Range, Battery and Charging

This is where the Monjaro EM-i stands out. Its 29.8 kWh battery gives an electric-only range of up to 116 km (WLTP), depending on the variant. That could cover many daily drives without petrol. With the engine helping, the combined range reaches up to 922 km. Fast charging takes the battery from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes.

There is also vehicle-to-load (V2L) at up to 6.6 kW, so you can power compatible equipment from the car.

Exterior Design and Practicality

The Monjaro EM-i is 4,800 mm long with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. You will notice a vertical front grille, blue electric lighting elements and a full-width rear light bar with 175 LEDs. Space is a strong point as well: 633 litres of boot capacity, growing to 2,183 litres with the rear seats folded. The front passenger seat folds flat for items up to 2.8 metres, and a full-size spare wheel sits under the floor without eating into boot space.

Cabin and Flyme Auto Technology

Inside, a 15.4-inch central touchscreen runs Geely’s Flyme Auto software, with a 12.3-inch digital driver display behind the wheel. A 25.6-inch augmented-reality head-up display keeps key information in your line of sight. For comfort, the front seats have 11 layers with massage, heating, ventilation and two-position memory.

Driver Assistance and Safety Features

The SUV has a Level 2 driver-assistance package with 17 functions, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and autonomous emergency braking. Continuous Damping Control (CCD) suspension adapts to conditions across Comfort, Standard and Sport modes. 

Other safety highlights include a reinforced high-strength steel passenger cell, a Bosch One Box braking system, Geely’s battery protection technology and 12V power outlets at the front and rear. As always, these systems assist the driver and do not replace attention.

Warranty and Launch Offer

AGMC is offering an eight-year or 200,000 km warranty on the high-voltage battery, driving motor and motor controller. Complimentary window tinting and extended factory battery coverage come with the launch promotion. Actual electric range and fuel use will depend on driving conditions, charging habits and the variant you choose.
