OMODA & JAECOO Deploys AI Robots at UAE Events: Autonomous Parking Tech Next
OMODA & JAECOO have confirmed the real-world deployment of their AI-powered robots in the UAE. The brand has also outlined plans to bring autonomous valet parking to future models in the region.
Quick read:
- At a major UAE sporting event, OMODA & JAECOO put humanoid and quadruped robots to work as hosts.
- Mornine, the humanoid robot, communicates in 11 languages to assist visitors.
- Select future UAE models will get Autonomous Valet Parking Driver (VPD) technology.
- Over 5,000 vehicles sold in the UAE; operations span five emirates.
Robots on the Ground Now
The company deployed humanoid robot 'Mornine' and quadruped robot 'Argos' to assist with multilingual hosting and venue guidance.
At a recent international sporting event in the UAE, OMODA & JAECOO deployed its AiMOGA robot platform beyond the showroom for the first time. Two robots. Each had a distinct role. Mornine, the humanoid model, handled visitor interaction and hosting duties, communicating in 11 languages via AI-powered speech recognition.
Argos, a four-legged robot, joined the display. It navigated autonomously, avoided obstacles and provided mobile assistance. Practical deployment, not a concept exercise. OMODA & JAECOO has identified potential applications across hospitality venues in the region, including luxury hotels, airports, exhibitions and entertainment spaces.
VPD and SIP Explained
Valet Parking Driver technology enables vehicles to independently search for parking spaces, park themselves and return via remote commands.
Coming next is a system called VPD (Valet Parking Driver) or SIP (Super Intelligent Parking). It handles the full parking sequence without the driver on board. Once activated, the car searches for an available space in a car park, manoeuvres into it and returns to the driver's location on a remote command.
The system handles more than parking assistance. Search-and-park is fully automated. OMODA & JAECOO has not disclosed which sensors or processing hardware it uses.
Why This Matters for UAE Buyers
"AI, robotics and intelligent mobility represent the future of connected living," stated CEO Shawn Xu.
OMODA & JAECOO is deploying service robots and autonomous parking technology to present itself as a tech-forward brand. Multi-level car parks in dense cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are a routine frustration. VPD targets that problem directly.
Part of Chery International, the company has passed 5,000 vehicle sales in the UAE. Showrooms run across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. Globally, the brands hit 1 million cumulative sales in three years. The technology push backs that up with a broader spec sheet than most rivals in the segment.
Timeline and Model Rollout
The intelligent parking technology is planned for select future OMODA & JAECOO models in the UAE.
No launch date for VPD and SIP technology in the UAE has been set. OMODA & JAECOO say both will arrive in "select future models". Higher-end vehicles in the portfolio are the likely starting point.
The UAE lineup covers the OMODA C5 and C7, plus the JAECOO J7 SHS and the JAECOO J8 SHS. The technology could reach the next generation of those models or an entirely new vehicle. Local regulatory approvals for autonomous vehicle functions would also be required.
