Another huge advantage of the engine is high mileage, especially in Eco mode, with Nissan claiming 17.3 km/L. The normal mode is the default for most driving. While Sport mode is there and does tighten responses usefully for overtaking, the three‑cylinder engine’s character is more that of an efficient commuter than a corner‑carving enthusiast.

Highway performance 

On the highway across the UAE, or more specifically between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the Magnite is composed but honest about its limitations. This is not a surprise at all, and at three‑digit speeds, the cabin is acceptably quiet, though the three‑cylinder engine produces a slightly higher vibration frequency through the steering wheel than a four‑cylinder unit would. Wind noise is managed adequately. The CVT holds a gear ratio that keeps revs at a relaxed level on the cruise.

Overtaking on the E11 at highway speeds requires planning. The 99 hp is sufficient but not effortless in this situation.

Ride Quality and Handing 

In both of these areas, you hardly face any problem with the Magnite. It is compact by nature, which means handling is rather effortless for most parts. The MacPherson-strut front suspension copes well with all types of UAE roads. The torsion‑beam rear occasionally feels busy over repeated surface changes at higher speeds, but it is never uncomfortable.

Being an SUV‑style body, it has a 205 mm ground clearance, which is high and very useful in many driving conditions. This is a big positive if you are coming from a sedan, as shopping‑center car‑park ramps, the occasional curb overshoot, or uneven surfaces at some locations are handled without the scraping that lower‑riding cars produce. In most driving conditions, the steering feels light and well-weighted for city use and honest at low speeds without the artificial heaviness some cars use to simulate engagement. Body roll is present in corners but always predictable.

Given the price‑sensitive segment, the way Nissan has priced the Magnite is actually surprising, but we recommend the top‑end SL, even though it is pricier, but the reasons are pretty obvious. Considering the price difference between SL and SV, it is not that huge, but what you get at the top actually justifies the premium of a well‑packaged compact SUV that is still reasonably affordable without becoming too high.

The SL is where the Magnite makes its best case, even though it is the top variant, as nothing in this popular segment delivers this combination at this price with a Nissan badge. The SV is a respectable alternative if the budget does not stretch further.

While Nissan is late, its entry with a highly desirable car like the Magnite is truly significant; it actually enhances the segment by offering buyers real value. An SUV experience at a reasonable price and entry into the Nissan brand without spending a fortune. If you are in the market for a well‑priced new compact SUV and do not want to go the Chinese route, the Magnite is a great deal, a genuinely well‑built car in its segment.
