Mercedes-Benz V-Class garners attention at 2019 Dubai Motor Show

Mercedes-Benz adds another reason for visitors to show up at their designated arena with its new V-Class, the updated and the more advanced. The company has worked on its exterior front design and interior making it more elegant than before from the inside and appealing than ever from the outside. There are new trim options (exterior and interior) and exterior color choices for the customers to choose from.

Outside, the V-Class gets a restyled bumper and other tweaks that make up for its stronger visual appeal. The AVANTGARDE and EXCLUSIVE lines are still present. The company has added a new AMG variant, which features a new diamond radiator grille with chrome pins. The customers will now be presented with four light-alloy wheel designs, measuring from 17 to 19 inches. New exterior color choices have been added to the sheet.

From the inside, the V-Class has become more elegant, thanks to the new trim elements available in carbon fibre, ebony wood, piano lacquer, twin-stripe, and brushed aluminium. The V-Class is now offering luxury seats for the first rear row with a back massage and a fully reclining function along with a climatization feature.

V-Class Rear

Under the hood, the new V-Class has been blessed with an in-line four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that’s capable of delivering a max power of 214 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm.  It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.4 seconds before attaining a top speed of 210 kmph.

For safety, Mercedes-Benz has equipped the new V-Class with features like optional active brake assist, active brake assist, optional highbeam assist plus and the standard attention assist.

The standard attention assist feature detects the drowsy driver and prompts him to take rest. The new, optional highbeam assist plus deactivates the LEDs of the main beam upon encountering oncoming traffic to avoid other drivers from dazzling. This is done by creating a U-shaped cut-out in the cone of light.

While the active brake assist is responsible for automatically applying brakes up to standstill if the driver fails to react in the desired manner adequately and independently, the optional active brake assist, on the other hand, recognizes the risk of collision and gives an alert to prevent the same. The signal given is in the form of acoustic as well as visual.
