Mercedes-Benz V-Class

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class might not be having as exuberant or up-to-date cabin layout as the other offerings from the German brand, as it still belongs to the previous generation of Mercedes-Benz V-Class cars. However, it doesn’t mean that there is a dearth of luxury, with the V-Class being high on it and showcasing impressive quality and fit and finish levels.

The driver’s cockpit of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class looks a bit conventional by modern standards, with the three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel having a dual-pod analogue instrument console with a small TFT MID in between the analogue pods. The middle layer of the dashboard, which has a curved design from the sides and middle, houses the rounded AC vents in the corners and middle while having the free-standing infotainment system and controls for the audio and climate control in the middle.

The lower layer of the dashboard, which flows towards the lower centre console, houses the brand’s famous touchpad, along with a slew of buttons, on a small platform placed on it and finished in satin silver. Being a Mercedes-Benz offering, the V-Class packs in a few premium features like four-zone automatic climate control, a Burmester audio system, aluminium pedals, ambient lighting, and more.

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class comes with a boxy design of a traditional three-row van, which makes it purposeful but not pretty from every angle. To make it look desirable though, Mercedes-Benz has introduced its design language inspired by its range of SUVs, which makes the front end of the MPV look premium and typical Mercedes-Benz-like.

At the front, one can see a large and wide grille with rounded edges and a star-studded design, along with a sleek strip of chrome running in the middle and the tri-star logo of Mercedes-Benz. This front grille, along with the sweptback angular all-LED headlamp, makes the fascia of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class look heavily inspired by other offerings from the brand, such as the previous-generation S-Class and GLS SUV. Here, the front bumper has a large horizontal air dam in the middle and curved air dams on the sides with chrome strips running through it.

The side profile of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class is traditionally van-like with large window panels and a sliding theme for the rear door panels. A sharp crease emerging from the front fender, and flowing through the entire side profile while passing below the door handles, adds some character to the side profile. The slightly flared wheel arches have large multi-spoke machined alloy wheels below them, which give a smart stance to the otherwise boxy look of the MPV. At the back, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class has a huge windshield in an almost vertical manner, along with vertically-placed tail lamps on the lower sides of the rear door.

Prioritizing comfort over anything else, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class comes with AIRMATIC air suspension, which allows one to adjust the suspension settings and comfort levels depending on the type of terrain. The V-Class also comes with Dynamic Select drive modes for enhanced comfort levels while driving.

The only engine and transmission combination employed in all three trim levels of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. With a maximum power of 211 bhp and a peak torque output of 350 Nm, this engine enables the V-Class to reach a top speed of 210 kmph and do the 0-100 kmph run in 9.4 seconds.

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class comes with a host of essential safety features like front, side and curtain airbags, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera, park assist package, and more.

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is purely for chauffeur-driven people, who spend most of their time in the back seat. For those people, the V-Class impresses with the high levels of comfort and luxury it offers.
