The facility will now focus on the production of body panels for a new range of cars to revitalise its product lineup.
Despite the halt in production of the F-Type, XE, and XF they can be ordered and purchased through the Jaguar website. However, customers currently won’t be able to specify their own configurations meaning these models are being produced as per the already set standards and no longer offer customisable options.
During the Second World War, the Castle Bromwich factory originally served as the production hub for Lancaster and Spitfire planes. Later on, the ownership was taken over by British Leyland. Subsequently, the control was assumed by Jaguar. Under the stewardship of Jaguar, Castle Bromwich produced many iconic vehicles like the XJ and S-Type.
In 2021, the electric XJ project was canceled and the upcoming EV production was relocated to Solihull. Despite facing supply challenges, both the XF and XE saw a significant increase in sales, leaving behind the Solihull-built F-Pace SUV.
In 2025, Jaguar is ready to embark on a new era marked by the launch of a 600bhp electric four-seat GT car with having similar configuration to the acclaimed Porsche Taycan. Following this debut, Jaguar will come up with a luxurious SUV seeking inspiration from the Bentley Bentayga, showcasing the expansion and versatility of the brand into the luxury SUV market category. A large luxury saloon is also decked up to join the lineup.
