Jaguar revives E-Type with two new special editions

ABU DHABI: Jaguar has created two exclusive E-Type models for a client in Southeast Asia to mark 50 years since the end of the iconic car's production. Known as the E-Type Commemorative cars, these special editions pay homage to the final 50 Commemorative Editions from 1974. Crafted by Jaguar Classic, these models celebrate the legacy of the iconic sports car.

    Both these special editions are convertibles, with one in Opal Black and the other in Signet Green, showcasing original E-Type colours. They also come with key models engraved with blueprints on the centre console, ornate details by England's oldest jeweller, Deakin & Francis, and hand-woven leather trim. The key highlights include a Jaguar badge with 18-karat gold and mother of pearl. On the trunk lid, a silver “JAGUAR” script is engraved.

    The cabin comes with silver accents and additional gold. Subtle modern enhancements inside these cars, include a heated windscreen and Bluetooth radio, discreetly integrated to improve comfort and usability. Over 2,000 hours were taken to build each Reborn E-type.

    Under the hood, the 3.8-litre inline-6 engine comes with electronic fuel injection and is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. These special editions also come with modern amenities such as a heated windshield and air conditioning.

    The Commemorative E-Types were launched shortly after the production of the F-Type ceased, alongside the E-Pace, XE, and XF. The last units of the F-Pace SUV will be produced soon.

    Jaguar is planning to reveal its first electric car as a concept—a luxurious GT—in December. However, there will be no new model reveals for about a year as the company prepares for a complete electric transformation in 2026.
