All-New Mitsubishi Pajero Is Here: What’s New and What UAE Buyers Can Expect

The flagship SUV, first introduced in 1982, has a long history with over 3.29 million units sold worldwide. And now Mitsubishi has officially unveiled its fully redesigned, all-new Pajero. 

This new generation adds a philosophy of Prestige to the model's traditional focus on Confidence and Comfort. It brings a 2.4-litre clean diesel engine, an 8-speed automatic gearbox, a ladder frame chassis with Super Select 4WD-II, and multiple features that make this model worth exploring. 

Mitsubishi plans to launch it in the Middle East from fiscal 2027, though a specific UAE date isn't yet announced till than check out the overall details below!

A Bolder Pajero: New Design, Bigger Presence and Key Dimensions

The new model evolves the Pajero’s look while keeping its identity. The design concept is called Grand Charisma, favouring bold, upright proportions and strong horizontal lines. Step Inside the New Pajero: Premium Comfort Meets Smart Technology

Inside, there’s a three-row, seven-seat cabin with a higher driving position for better visibility. The second row has a 150 mm sliding range and a tumble mechanism for easier access to the back. Mitsubishi says the third row is suitable for adults. 

Brand has especially paid attention to comfort with available seat ventilation, three-zone climate control, and extensive measures to reduce cabin noise. Moreover, for better access to smart technology during driving, a 14.3-inch display is added, alongside MITSUBISHI CONNECT services and a Dynamic Sound Yamaha Ultimate audio system.

Under the Hood: 2.4L Diesel Power and Mitsubishi’s 4WD Hardware

The new Pajero remains focused on genuine off-road performance. Power comes from a 2.4-litre clean diesel engine with a single VGT turbocharger, which is capable enough to produce up to 480 Nm of torque. 

This is combined with a newly developed 8-speed automatic transmission with a Sport mode. Also, the hardware includes the Super Select 4WD-II (SS4-II) system and Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) to manage both off-road trails and everyday driving.

While strong on-road performance, comfortable yet smart technology, and a strong engine make the Pajero a well-rounded SUV.  But there is something more that buyers can expect. It gets a highly rigid ladder frame with an increased use of high-tensile steel. The suspension setup combines a double-wishbone front with a five-link rigid rear axle, developed with a goal of “off-road comfort”. 

Drivers can choose from seven drive modes, including specific settings for sand and rock. The safety package is also comprehensive, with collision mitigation, lane assistance, and MI-PILOT for highway driving.

Why the New Pajero Could Be a Strong Fit for UAE Buyers

The combination of features looks promising for the region. It has dedicated Sand and Rock drive modes, 230 mm of ground clearance, and a 30.4-degree approach angle, backed by proper 4WD hardware. For daily use, it offers seven seats, a quiet cabin with three-zone climate control, and modern connected tech. 

The MI-PILOT system should also prove useful for longer journeys between emirates. All-New Mitsubishi Pajero Revealed: begins in Thailand, followed by Japan and Australia in fiscal 2026.
