Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid sets two new lap time records in the Middle East

ABU DHABI: The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is an extremely powerful car and this is no hidden truth. However, displaying its total might and prowess, the luxury hybrid has set another record for other to chase. The car has recorded the fastest lap times among the luxury 4-door hybrid saloons.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has managed to record a blistering 2:19:15 at Dubai Autodrome and at the Yas Marina, it managed 2:31:79. This record was set by Lars Kern, the person behind the steering. He is presently Porsche’s Testing and Development driver.

The Dubai Autodrome was a 5.39 km circuit that had six unique configurations. Moving ahead, Yas Marina Circuit is, as a matter of fact, a very important part of the international Formula One championship.

Both of these tracks are also known to host Porsche's own GT3 Cup Challenge. These challenges are popular not only internationally, but regionally too, giving exposure to talented newbies in this field. One of the latest drivers from this challenge is Al Faisal from Muscat in Oman.

It is to be noted that the performance prowess of the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is not restricted to these two tracks or challenges only. The car has set records on several other places and challenges like the Losail International Circuit in Qatar (2:18:96), Buddha in India (2:12:56), Bahrain International Circuit in Bahrain (1:59:96) etc.

Speaking about the car itself, the hybrid Panamera has a combination of an electric motor and a fire-breathing V8 twin-turbo 4.0-litre petrol. Together, the powerplant is capable enough to propel the car to a top speed of 310 kmph while hitting the 0-100 kmph acceleration mark in just 3.4 seconds.

Moreover, with the E-Power mode, the Panamera E-Hybrid can travel for a distance of 50 kilometres without the IC engine, hence producing absolutely zero emission.
