Lexus LS

Following the theme and essence of Japanese hospitality, the interior of the Lexus LS feels plush and stylish and is easily one of the most vibrant places among cars. On the inside too, Lexus has played well with curves and rich elements to make it look super stylish and luxurious.

While the three-spoke steering wheel of the Lexus LS looks simple for the overall car’s dynamic appeal, the Lexus LS further raises the bars with its high-set instrument console binnacle with the full-TFT screen within it. The yacht-like layout for the dashboard of the Lexus LS looks premium, and its essence is further enhanced by the presence of a wide 12.3-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, which gets an integrated analogue clock to its side.

The swooping layers for the AC vents across the width of the dashboard and the stylish-looking panel for the automatic climate control buttons add more visual drama to the cabin. And that’s not all, for Lexus has armed the LS with rich and premium features like a 23-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, 28-way powered front seats with memory function, semi-aniline leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, four-zone automatic climate control, sunroof, wireless charging, powered rear full sunshade and more.

Compared to the full-spec European sedans, the Lexus LS has a more dramatic appearance with prominently curvaceous styling all around. The effect curves all around make the LS look very aerodynamic and stylish in its appearance.

At the front, the Lexus LS has the carmaker’s trademark spindle-themed front grille, which extends down to the lower edge of the front bumper. Adding more visual drama to the front profile are the Z-shaped all-LED headlamps and curved air vents on the corners of the front bumper. There is an impactful use of chrome for the front grille and bumper inserts.

The Lexus LS has a low-slung and long profile when viewed from the sides, which makes it a graceful car to look at. The most prominent highlight of the side profile of the LS has to be the large 20-inch premium grade wheels with machined finish and large rounded wheel arches over them. The front and rear fenders have smooth rounded flares over them, giving it an additional essence of richness in its overall design.

The rear profile of the Lexus LS looks stylish with the presence of wishbone-shaped combination tail lamps, which further look flashier with their LED inserts. There is a fine chrome garnish running between the LED tail lamps across the boot lid’s width. Additional chrome has been introduced for the surrounds of exhaust ports and fender extensions on either side.

The Lexus LS has a length of 5235mm, a width of 1900mm and a height of 1460mm, which makes it one of the largest four-door sedans on sale in the world. The low-slung stance with a lowered ground clearance and a long wheelbase gives the LS a planted feel and comfortable ride quality, further enhanced by a supple setup for the suspension setup and versatile drive modes on offer.

The Lexus LS has been offered in the UAE with a single powertrain option of a 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated V6 petrol engine, which claims a maximum power output of 312 bhp and a peak torque output of 380 Nm. This conventional powertrain feels super refined in its power delivery and is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

One of the best sedans in the world, the Lexus LS gets premium safety features like a panoramic view monitor, pre-crash safety system, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, vehicle stability and traction control, blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Lexus LS might be an expensive car to buy at first, but it truly justifies its flagship positioning with an exuberant design, extremely-appealing cabin, long list of features, creamy-smooth V6 and plush ride quality.
