Audi S7 Sportback

Audi offers the S7 Sportback with premium-looking dual-tone black and brown leather upholstery as standard for the UAE car market, though the potential buyers have the option of getting other upholstery choices for an added cost. The aluminium inlays and gloss black inserts in the cabin further make the cabin feel richer.

The leather-wrapped multi-functional steering wheel of the Audi S7 Sportback also gets aluminium inlays and is heated and electronically adjustable. Behind this premium-looking steering wheel, the Audi S7 Sportback has a modern full-TFT virtual cockpit display. More aluminium inlays can be seen for the surrounds for AC vents on the dashboard corners and upper and lower centre console surrounds.

The upper layer of the dashboard has a horizontal layer which incorporates the AC vents, while the upper centre console below it faces slightly towards the driver and has a new-age touchscreen interface for the audio and MMI controls. The lower centre console here also has an additional slanted touchscreen for the multi-zone climate control settings and other functions. This lower centre console, along with the transmission tunnel, is covered in a gloss-black finish.

The Audi S7 Sportback takes forward the base design of the A7 Sportback and adds some more dynamism to its visual appeal. While it hasn’t gone overboard like the RS7 Sportback, the S7 Sportback strikes a fine balance between sportiness and elegance in its design, thanks to the additional design bits over the A7 Sportback.

The front fascia of the Audi S7 Sportback has a hexagonal grille with horizontal dark chrome slats within it. The angular trapezoidal headlamps placed to the sides of the grille have all-LED illumination, though one can opt for the Matrix LED headlamps with laser lights at an added cost. The satin silver surrounds for the fog lamps and the satin silver front splitter make it look more special than the A7 Sportback.

The Audi S7 Sportback catches one’s attention a lot from its side, where this sporty four-door car carries an impressive-looking coupe-like roofline that slopes down towards the edge of the boot lid. The window frame surrounds of the Audi S7 Sportback are finished in chrome, while the car also gets frameless doors, 20-inch sporty alloy wheels, and an aluminium finish for the door-mounted rearview mirrors as standard.

At the back, the Audi S7 Sportback has the contemporary-looking LED combination tail lamps from the A7 Sportback, which remain unchanged along with the LED connected light bar between them. These tail lamps have an extremely eye-catching dynamic lighting pattern for the LEDs. The gloss black diffuser over the rear bumper has dual-rounded exhaust pipes on both sides.

The Audi S7 Sportback features Audi’s famed Quattro all-wheel-drive technology as standard, which enhances the driving appeal by offering loads of grip and traction at all speeds and even when driven hard. The multiple drive modes and steering setup options further sharpen the driving dynamics of the Audi S7 Sportback.

The Audi S7 Sportback is powered by a new-generation 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine, which also powers a few other sporty models from Audi. This twin-turbo engine is paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and generates 450 PS of maximum power and 600 Nm of maximum torque. It is the same engine which powers the RS7 Sportback but in a higher state of tune. With this engine on board, the Audi S7 Sportback claims 250 kmph of electronically restricted top speed and a 0-100 kmph run in 4.6 seconds.

The Audi S7 Sportback is equipped with a lot of premium safety features such as eight airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking, traction and stability management, exit warning system, multi-collision brake assist and night vision assistant.

The Audi S7 Sportback bridges the gap between the A7 Sportback and the full-blown RS7 Sportback, by offering a slightly lesser-exotic styling and equipment list and a slightly toned-down performance compared to the latter.
