Audi E-tron Sportback

The overall cabin layout of the Audi e-Tron Sportback has been shared with the e-Tron SUV with no changes. Inspired by other range-topping Audi offerings, the cabin of the e-Tron Sportback is high on tech with simple layouts for the dashboard layers. One can choose from the two premium leather upholstery options on offer – all-black and Okapi Brown, along with a more exclusive perforated black leather upholstery with honeycomb stitching. The brushed aluminium accents and gloss black inserts further add more elegance to the cabin of the Audi e-Tron Sportback.

There are full-TFT high-definition screens for the Virtual Cockpit Plus trapezoidal instrument console behind the four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, the slanted touchscreen infotainment system in the upper centre console, and another slanted touchscreen for climate control and drive settings. All these high-definition screens make the cabin of the Audi e-Tron Sportback feel futuristic.

In the centre console, the AC vents are positioned with a slight tilt towards the driver’s side, with the vents flanking the driver’s cockpit further making the cabin look wider. The lower centre console feels premium and expensive with its gloss black finish, with more brushed aluminium inserts given for the surrounds of the drive mode selector and electronic parking brake.

With the e-Tron Sportback, Audi created a stunning-looking SUV coupe, which looks extremely stylish and futuristic without going too overboard, as is in the case of many electric vehicles. The coupe essence in the design of the Audi e-Tron Sportback looks effortless, with this premium vehicle having proportionate lines and curves all around.

The front profile of the Audi e-Tron Sportback has been shared with its donor vehicle, the e-Tron SUV, with it also having a traditional octagonal grille with chrome surrounds and vertical chrome slats. This grille is flanked by trapezoidal Matrix LED headlamps with innovative lighting patterns. These headlamps also come with daytime running LEDs flowing over them, that stretch down towards the front bumper corners that have pentagonal air vents with satin silver surrounds.

Till the B-pillar, the Audi e-Tron Sportback shares its design with the e-Tron, post which it distinguishes itself with its coupe-like curved roofline. The sleek lines over the fenders and the crease flowing through the door panels add some dynamism to the side profile of the e-Tron Sportback. This electric SUV coupe is offered with choices of 20-inch and 21-inch wheels with multiple design patterns. The side profile of the Audi e-Tron Sportback also has satin silver highlights for the lower door garnish and roof rails.

At the back, the Audi e-Tron Sportback has a sharply raked rear windscreen with a spoiler at the top. The e-Tron Sportback also has the same sleek-looking LED combination tail lamps as the ones seen in the e-Tron, which stretch towards the middle of the boot lid with a connected LED light bar running between them. At the bottom, the rear bumper further has more satin silver highlights.

While the Quattro all-wheel drive setup affirms the driving appeal of the Audi e-Tron Sportback as engaging, the electric SUV-coupe also has seven modes in its drive select system, namely Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Efficiency, Individual, All-Road, and Off-Road. These drive modes offer varying steering and suspension setups for matching ride and handling balance over various terrains and speeds. The SUV coupe also has adaptive air suspension as standard.

Like the e-Tron on which it is based, the Audi e-Tron Sportback is also available with the Quattro all-wheel drive, thanks to its dual motor setup that claims a maximum power output of 408 bhp and a maximum torque output of 664 Nm. The Audi e-Tron Sportback has an electronically-restricted top speed of 200 kmph, with a claimed 0-100 kmph sprint time of 5.7 seconds. The 95kWh lithium-ion battery pack of the Audi e-Tron Sportback claims a 484 km range and takes 30 minutes for a 10-80 percent charge with a 150kW DC fast charger.

Along with the basic safety features for its price, like eight airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera, electronic stability control, traction control, hill holds assist, and hill descent control, the Audi e-Tron also comes equipped with Pre-Sense Basic suite of ADAS features, which includes autonomous emergency braking, a blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert and vehicle exit warning, lane keep assist with lane departure warning and emergency lane keeping, collision detection and preparation and automatic emergency braking.

Featuring high-order visual drama and tech-laden powertrain features, the Audi e-Tron Sportback has redefined the SUV-coupe category with the futuristic approach of born-electric vehicles.
