The New BMW 7 Series Debuts Panoramic iDrive and Dual-Finish Paint in Dubai

Since 1977, the BMW 7 Series has occupied a specific niche: corner-office luxury at 250 km/h. The new one adds a cinema.

BMW Group Middle East unveiled the seventh-generation 7 Series at a regional debut in Dubai on September 8, 2026. Flagship luxury sedan. The car is the first production model to use technologies from BMW's next-generation Neue Klasse platform, bringing a suite of world-first interior and customisation features to the UAE alongside a monolithic new design.

Regional Launch Milestone

BMW calls this the most extensive model update in its history. Technologies previewed in the Neue Klasse concepts appear here for the first time in a production luxury sedan, moving from motor show displays to showroom stock. The 7 Series has reached GCC markets after 49 years as BMW's flagship sedan. Dubai is among the first markets to receive it.

Neue Klasse Interior Tech

Inside, the traditional dashboard is gone. BMW replaces it with the new Panoramic iDrive system, a crystal-clear display stretching across the windscreen's base rather than sitting in the conventional cluster position. Debuting alongside it is the BMW Passenger Screen, giving the front passenger their own interface. No shared display, no disputes. Rear passengers get the upgraded BMW Theatre Screen. A vast panel that descends from the headliner. An ambient light strip and new lighting elements run through the cabin, with materials spanning leather, cloth, wood, crystal glass, and metal.

Design and Personalisation

Outside, it looks like a 7 Series that has developed strong opinions about modern architecture. Sheer surfaces and a powerful stance make the design monolithic. Up front, the Iconic Glow kidney grille illuminates, flanked by sharp crystal headlamps. Imposing. Intentionally so. Wheel options run from 20 inches up to newly available 22-inch rims, and three BMW M Performance models are available with M Sport and M Sport Package Pro options for buyers wanting more aggression. The real headline comes from the BMW Individual department: Dual-Finish paintwork, a world first. This complex process combines two different colour finishes on one body. A level of craftsmanship usually reserved for one-off concepts.

Audio and Comfort Suite

A private cinema needs a proper sound system. Bowers & Wilkins supplies one here, with Dolby Atmos support across the cabin. On the long, straight highways of the GCC, that matters. Optional Executive Lounge and comfort seats add to the comfort, they sit closer to expensive furniture than to car seats. The 7 Series is designed to prioritize the rear-seat comfort, catering to the needs of executives and company owners rather than the person behind the wheel.
