The Yangwang U8 features an emergency water-flotation mode that allows it to navigate through water and a tank-turn function that enables it to rotate 360 degrees on the spot.Police Fleet Goes Electric
At key tourist destinations, the SUV will connect officers with the public for assistance and information.
Dubai Police has added the Yangwang U8 to its fleet, with Al-Futtaim Automotive Group, the exclusive UAE distributor for the Yangwang brand, as the collaborating partner.
It was unveiled at the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2026) at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 21st October by Brigadier Saeed Al Hajri, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation.
Not a pursuit car. The U8 is assigned to high-visibility community engagement patrols around Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and Jumeirah Beach Residence and if you've watched the Dubai Police luxury fleet grow over the years, the Yangwang badge is the most unexpected addition yet.
1,197 hp and 3.6-Second Sprint
On paper, the specifications back up the futuristic styling.

Community outreach is its stated role, but the Yangwang U8 posts supercar-level numbers. The electric SUV produces 1,197 horsepower and hits 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Dubai Police's luxury fleet has long staked out that territory, and 3.6 seconds to 100 km/h in an SUV of this scale is not a number you ignore.
Water-Flotation and 360-Degree Rotation
In an emergency, the U8 can float and navigate through water.
No other production SUV on the Dubai Police roster matches the Yangwang U8's capability set. One feature is an emergency water-flotation mode: the vehicle stays buoyant and propels itself through floodwater. The other is a "tank turn", which is a full 360-degree rotation on its own axis, no forward or rearward movement required. Tight urban spaces and event-management situations are the obvious use cases. The tank turn alone sets it apart from every other SUV in the fleet.
Modernising the Fleet
Dubai Police has been adding electric vehicles to its fleet as part of a broader push toward cleaner mobility.

Dubai Police added the Yangwang U8 under a stated modernisation strategy. The U8 runs on an electric platform at over 1,100 hp spec that puts EVs in the performance column, not the compromise one. At 1,197 hp from an electric drivetrain, the U8 makes the modernisation case better than any prior addition.
