A 15.6-inch central touchscreen runs on Huawei's HarmonySpace 5 cockpit software, paired with 4G connectivity for real-time navigation even away from a phone's own signal. So you and whoever's riding with you can adjust climate or media from your own seat, using four-zone intelligent voice control, without reaching for a physical button. Huawei's involvement extends beyond simple software licensing, too.

The same ADS 4 and HarmonySpace 5 systems underpin several Huawei-linked road cars, and the Mhero II marks one of the first times that ecosystem has been built into a dedicated off-roader.

A panoramic sunroof is big enough for light into a cabin that could otherwise feel closed in, given how high and square the body sits. There are multiple digital displays that spread the driving information across more than one screen rather than cramming everything onto a single central unit.

To deal with this, there is a negative-ion air generator alongside the standard automatic climate control, a feature aimed at cabin air freshness rather than just temperature. The automatic climate control still handles the day-to-day cooling that most owners will use constantly through a UAE summer, with the negative-ion feature working alongside it rather than replacing it.

Charging

As a plug-in hybrid rather than a pure EV, the Mhero II charges its battery from a home wallbox or public charger for its electric-only range. Then it falls back on the 1.5-litre turbo engine to extend range far beyond what the battery alone could manage.

Boot Space

At 828 litres, the Mhero II's boot comfortably out-sizes most mid-size SUVs, a lot closer to what a large three-row model offers than a typical five-seater. That space matters in practice for a car likely to carry recovery gear, sand ladders, or camping equipment on a weekend desert trip rather than just weekly shopping. With no third row to fold out of the way, the full load area stays available behind the second row on every trip, not just when the back seats are empty.

You wouldn't necessarily expect a smartphone maker's tech to be doing safety work on a truck built for rock crawling. But Huawei's ADS 4 driving-assistance system underpins the Mhero II's active safety, a partnership more commonly seen on Huawei-linked road cars than on a hardcore off-roader like this one.

Front

This SUV is in no way trying to look appealing; it certainly is capable. The front is defined by a wide, upright grille, and squared-off wheel arches give the Mhero II a deliberately military-inspired face. It's not hard to see the resemblance, which is closer in spirit to a Hummer than to a typical crossover. The headlights are high on the nose, positioned to stay clear of dust and mud thrown up by the front wheels on rougher terrain. And a raised bonnet line with stepped fender flares continues the theme. This is built around approach angle and wheel clearance ahead of a smooth, wind-cheating shape.

Side Profile

The flared wheel arches and visible underbody protection run the length of the car. This is a clear signal of off-road intent, purpose, and capability. The whole body runs 5.1 metres long; the wheelbase is 3 metres, with height varying between 1.8 and 1.9 metres depending on how the air suspension is set. That adjustable ride height is also behind the two different ground-clearance figures.

Alloy Wheels

The Mhero II comes with an 18-inch off-road-focused set and a 20-inch set for a more comfort-orientated configuration. The tyres are sized to suit a vehicle built to cross sand and rock rather than corner hard on the road conditions. Both get a sidewall profile tall enough to air down for extended dune driving without risking the rim.

Rear

A full-width taillight bar and a spare-wheel-ready rear end complete the boxy look, with front and rear recovery points built into the bumpers. The rear overhang stays short relative to the car's overall length, useful for departure angle when climbing out of a dip in the desert.

Ride and Handling

The Mhero II doesn't try to out-luxury the Land Rover Defender or out-tradition the Toyota Land Cruiser.

Its case rests on numbers neither can match, the huge power and combined range at a price well under either rival. And BYD's Yangwang U8 makes a similar case, though the Mhero II undercuts it too while matching most of its off-road hardware.

The real risk is not actually the SUV, which is properly capable on paper, but it is a new brand. That changes everything; right now, they have just three showrooms and no track record. And so, the choice is quite uncertain. But it is worth checking out, and if you are willing to be an early adopter, you get a lot for the money packed in the car. For what it's worth, at least you can surely explore the SUV and check out how it feels in the real world.
