Mercedes-Benz GLB & GLA get mild-hybrid powertrains and refreshed styling

ABU DHABI: Mercedes-Benz has unveiled updates for its smallest SUV offerings, the 2024 GLA and GLB. The exterior styling of both these models gets minor tweaks. The most notable change is the addition of mild hybrid engine tech. Both these models get 48-volt hybrid systems that can offer an extra 13 horsepower compared to the older powertrains.

The new GLA and GLB bring together impeccable design, high comfort, and intelligent functionality to create versatile compact SUVs. Both models receive standard LED headlights, taillights, and a revised front bumper with a radiator grille. Buyers will also get 20 and 18-inch wheel options. GLB also benefits from an extended colour lineup with the addition of Spectral Blue Metallic shade. 

Inside, Mercedes Benz GLA and GLB get the latest MBUX software and the newest-generation AMG Performance steering wheel. The steering wheel comes with Nappa leather giving it a premium feel. You’ll also find high-beam assist, active parking assist, a 360-degree camera, and the Mirror and Keyless Go packages in both these cars. The cabin features two 10.25-inch screens: a second screen for digital instrumentation and a central one for the latest MBUX infotainment system. Some of the standard features in both these models include Android Auto and Wireless Apple CarPlay.

The all-new 2024 Mercedes Benz GLA and GLB is expected to hit the roads soon with other important details and pricing information to be announced closer to the on-sale date. 

The Mercedes Benz GLA is available in UAE in one version and is priced higher than the BMW 1 Series. After its global launch, it is estimated that 2024 GLA and GLB will be launched in the UAE.
