Hyundai’s i30 N fastback revealed ahead of Paris Motor Show debut

ABU DHABI: The Paris Motor Show 2018 is just a few days away and the automakers seem to be very excited for it even before it gets underways. Following suit of some other automakers, Hyundai too has revealed one of its premiere models ahead of its debut on the show.

2019 Hyundai i30 N front

The 2019 Hyundai i30 N hot hatch fastback gets the signature N Grille up front along with the bumper. There is also a red stripe running along the lip lower down. The tail end, however, continues to sport the same rear diffuser, glossy black spoiler and two exhaust pipes.

This new Hyundai i30 is very rich on the technical bits too. The company will be offering it with two infotainment systems, out of which, one has a standard 8-inch display that can route the rear parking camera view and can be connected via Bluetooth while the other is the same 8-inch unit but has navigation too. Both of these infotainment systems come with Apple’s CarPlay and Google Android Auto besides a unique N mode which has customisable parameters for the Performance Package, engine and sound setting.

The steering wheel does not only have mounted control buttons for the audio system but also settings to choose among five drive modes. The other settings on the inside are identical to the standard i30 with the same cabin space and 450 litres of boot area. However, it is visually better with a lot of red inserts all over, including gear lever, steering, seats and the AC vents.

2019 Hyundai i30 N engine

The 2019 i30 N will be available with only one engine trim but with two tunings. The turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder motor can churn out 248 PS as standard and 272 PS with the performance package tuning. With such power on offer, the car will be capable of hitting the 0-100 kmph acceleration in 6.4 seconds in the standard and just 6.1 seconds with the performance tuning.
