Toyota Corolla 2.0L XLI

I’ve had a Toyota Corolla for a few years now, and I can see why it’s one of the most common cars here. It just does the job without any fuss. The engine is not too powerful but very reliable and fuel efficient, which makes a huge difference with daily office runs in Dubai traffic. Inside, it’s basic but comfortable, good AC, decent infotainment with Bluetooth, and easy controls. Maintenance is affordable, and Toyota service centers are pretty much everywhere across the UAE. Sometimes I wish it had a little more punch for highway overtakes, but overall, it’s a car you can depend on every single day without worry. Perfect if you just want peace of mind driving.

The Toyota Corolla has been my daily driver for over a year, and it’s been very reliable. I feel comfortable with my vehicle. It's easy to park in tight spots, and the fuel efficiency helps with my monthly budget. The ride is always the best and gives me ease of driving, the seats are relaxing and gives me comfort even when stuck in traffic. The interior is simple but clean, and the touchscreen system is easy to use. I feel safe with the airbags and ABS, especially on busy roads. It’s a no-fuss, dependable and best car, it gets me where I need to go without any problems.

No matter what you see in terms of competition, the old seems to be gold for a lot of car buyers. At least that is what I see around my family and friends. Even though there are so many popular new cars, especially the SUV, people still trust the reliable sedan. One among them is the Corolla, which continues to attract buyers. Last year and this year, our family got two of them. I checked the latest one, and believe this Toyota sedan is just great. Power, performance, comfortable cabin, good boot spade and above all super efficient and high mileage, makes it perfect.

Toyota offers its car with a range of new and very vital features making our life and ownership quite easy. The Corolla is a very well-established Sedan with dedicated fans. What I feel is the most underrated aspect of the Corolla is the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suit, this consists of a range of driver assistance tech targeted at safety and ease of use. Like for example the pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams. All of this helps accident prevention and overall improved road safety, very critical in UAE considering the number of cars on road.

The Corolla is the best car in its segment, this hybrid sedan is great to drive. Over the years with my experience with SUVs, I started to admire the Sedans for their nice touch and comfort, and drivability. I think the Corolla scores better today than ever when the prices of cars are going up considerably, while this hybrid from Japanese major Toyota is available at a bargain, and provides complete reliability with safety and far lower running cost. It looks great too.

I keep on appreciating this model after a vigorous usage of this on my recent trip. This proved to be an efficient commuter which did not fail to satisfy me in diverse situations and there lies its specialty. Safety wise also this model will prove to be the pioneer in this segment. I am sure many of you would die for the astonishing fuel efficiency of the car alongside. The recent FX trim is ready to bewitch its audience with its enticing looks. Yet few things dissatisfied me as well. Say if the model is moving under heavy throttle the engine will prove to get reluctant and grumpy.

The Corolla from Toyota is no one’s dream car, but it is the car that you end up buying when faced with the realities of life. Slowly you realise that this car is not bad at all, and people making fun of it online have never worked a day in their life. You slowly understand that Toyota has been making the same car for so long because it works and it is truly a marvel of engineering that almost the same car works almost just as well in so many different countries across the world. Then you realise how well it is built and how well it performs regardless of how you maintain it. Then you get that this is in fact one of the best cars that you could have bought. This is the journey that almost every Corolla owner has gone through including me and I wouldn’t trade it for anything anymore.

The Corolla has always been my personal favourite sedan. And, even a lot of my friends and family members like the SUVs, my heart is always with the sedan, Corolla has always fascinated me. Not just me but I’ve seen this car owned by several of my friends, and with every subsequent generation, Toyota has successfully added more value, features and made it more attractive at the same time keeping the original feel of the car. I’ve being using the 2020 Corolla that I bought in Dubai, and the car is in excellent condition even today in its fifth year. In these years, there wasn’t a single incident with the car not a surprise. I still love every drive, be it in the city or highway. It never aged for me, at least.

I purchased the Toyota Corolla from my nearby dealership in November. I was quite thrilled with my purchase in the starting. However, about five months later my experience soured when the Bluetooth functionality malfunctioned abruptly. While CarPlay works well for navigation and music, and Bluetooth functions for calls and texts, I experienced a new issue whenever I use the steering wheel button or touchscreen, the call is unable to disconnect. I had to disable Bluetooth manually to end the call on my phone. This frustrating problem has made me question the reliability of Toyota.

This is my first car, which is Corolla, and I have had a smooth run with it for the past 2 months. It is very comfortable to drive, economical, and, believe it or not, rather spacious inside. Would have been great if they provided a big infotainment system inside, however what is provided gets the job done. The sound system is quite great at this price point and gives a good surround sound experience. The ABS with the EBD integration is a great feature that comes with it and gives a good braking experience even in wet conditions and around the turning in the hills.
