Honda Odyssey

Justifying its premium positioning, the Honda Odyssey has been bestowed with a premium and ultra-luxurious cabin, which is draped in a nice dual-tone finish of black and beige, with beige prominently covering up the majority of the cabin.

The Odyssey comes with a premium-looking four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel as well as a digital instrument console behind it. The wide and tapered centre console consists of a touchscreen infotainment system flanked with vertical AC vents beside it and a cluster of buttons for audio and climate control below it, in the lower part of the dashboard. The piano black inserts in the centre console definitely feel like a premium touch.

All the three rows of the Honda Odyssey feel incredibly spacious and comfortable and the features like tri-zone automatic climate control, multi-angle rearview camera, leather upholstery, powered front seats with memory function, Cabinwatch rear seat monitors, Cabintalk in-car PA system, magic slide second-row seats, cruise control, and premium sound system with subwoofer further elevate the experience even more.

The Honda Odyssey generates a sense of a sophisticated vehicle just from the way it looks – it is big and fitted with premium design elements, which do justify its premium positioning in Honda’s lineup.

At the front, the Honda Odyssey has a sloping bonnet which ends up in a wide front grille, which is dominated by the presence of a chrome thick bar ending up with angular full LED headlamps on both the sides. The headlamps look even more attractive with the presence of daytime running LEDs.

The side profile of the Honda Odyssey looks premium and extra-long, thanks to the sufficiently long wheelbase, the nice and elegant chrome finished waistline and machined alloy wheels. Honda has managed to add some visual drama on the side profile with a kinked window line and zig-zag character lines on the side doors, with the former giving a floating roof effect towards the rear. Honda has equipped the Odyssey with powered sliding doors, which have a clean and hassle-free closing and opening operations.

At the rear, the Honda Odyssey has been blessed with wraparound tail lamps, which have a sleek chrome bar between them and a large rear windscreen above them.

Just going by the interior feel itself, one can sense how supremely comfortable the Honda Odyssey can be. This feeling only gets better with the soft and supple suspension setup of the Odyssey which makes the rear seat experience only better with increasing time and distance. However, the soft steering setup, which is helpful in low-speed driving, lacks the feedback one expects at higher speeds.

Powering the Honda Odyssey is the same 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, which is present in the Honda Pilot as well. In the Odyssey, the engine is coupled to a 10-speed automatic gearbox and produces a maximum power output of 282 PS and a peak torque output of 350 Nm.

For a range-topping vehicle, the Honda Odyssey is rightly equipped with all the premium safety features including front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Honda Sensing, traction control, hill start assist, agile handling assist, vehicle stability assist, tire pressure monitoring system and electric parking brake.

The Honda Odyssey has got every aspect at a tight place and quantity which one expects from a range-topping MUV with high luxury standards.
