Volkswagen unveils new Golf with updated styling and more tech

ABU DHABI: Volkswagen has unveiled the all-new 2024 Golf to mark the iconic hatchback’s 50th anniversary. The new Golf impresses with its efficient drive systems, a sharper rear and front-end design, and a next-generation infotainment system. 

The new Golf features a refreshed front design with a striking illuminated logo, and advanced LED headlights integrated with advanced IQ.LIGHT technology. The rear lights have also been redesigned and boast 3D LED clusters. 

Inside, the vehicle is equipped with a next-gen infotainment system including an IDA voice assistant that facilitates language control, a fast processor, and ChatGPT integration enabling seamless interaction with AI capabilities. This positions Golf in the automotive landscape as a symbol of innovation.

The new Golf features an upgraded Park Assist Plus, a multi-function steering wheel, and a 360-degree Area View system. 

The upgraded hatchback will be offered with nine powertrain options, including an entirely new plug-in hybrid with quick charging and a 100 km electric range. Compared to the previous model the Golf GTI also sees a significant boost in power.

According to Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, the 2024 Volkswagen Golf represents the commitment of Volkswagen to technologically advanced and affordable vehicles. With a focus on enhanced comfort, quality, and efficiency, Schäfer believes the 2024 Volkswagen Golf signifies the model's best creation.

Imelda Labbé, Member of the Volkswagen Board of Management for Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales, emphasised the widespread appeal of Golf across different generations.
