Design & Quality

The Tiguan interior is a mix of luxury, comfort and convenience. The design is functional, not too much overwork, but rather a minimalist dashboard with soft-touch plastics, leatherette or leather upholstery and metallic accents. Front Seat

We liked the driver-centric layout, with intuitive controls and a higher seating position, offering greater visibility and comfort, and this lowers your fatigue during long hours of driving. Power adjustment and memory function are provided to the driver's seat for personalisation.

Electronic Parking Brake

An electronic parking brake integrated with hill-start assist on the centre console helps in the ease of parking on inclines. A standard feature with most high-end cars helps in ease of driving and enhances confidence in tight spaces.

Rear Seat

The Tiguan's rear seat is spacious, comfortable for two adults over six feet, even with the panoramic sunroof. The sliding, reclining bench helps in high comfort on long trips, the seat material is of good quality, and you feel it during your time in the cabin. The sliding and reclining rear bench allows greater space to move around, which allows passengers to fine-tune their seating position for extra comfort on longer trips or may be expanded to expand boot space if necessary. The rear AC vents, USB-C ports, and wide-opening doors make travel with kids a lot convenient, something families will love. The main trade-off is the raised floor hump, which makes the middle seat less comfortable for adults, but families still find three-across seating just fine.

AC Vents

Three-zone climate control (standard on Elegance and R-Line) with rear vents is strong, and so the cabin gets cool in no time. So no matter what is outside, your car is always cool and comfortable.

Storage Options

To carry your variety of stuff, small and big, there is a spacious glovebox, easy to access, door-mounted bottle holders (up to 1-litre), a centre console with cupholders, and a rear armrest compartment. And the cabin in a way is qutie practical with decent storage. 

Armrest

Front and rear centre armrests with cupholders aimed at offering that extra comfort when you’re in the car, driving for long hours. The padded armrests contribute to relaxed driving and a premium feel, though the rear armrest’s storage is modest, which is understandable.

Charging Options

The Tiguan keeps devices powered with two USB-C ports in the front, two in the rear, a 12V socket, and an optional wireless charging pad. Rear USB-C ports are a hit with passengers for connectivity on road trips.

Boot Space

The Tiguan has a 652-litre boot space and can expand to a massive 1,650 litres with the rear seats folded. The Tiguan is a mixed bag, not that extraordinary but also not dull, rather quite contemporary. The redesigned aerodynamic, stylish LED lighting, and a sporty appearance attract attention. City Performance

The Tiguan’s 1.4L TSI engine (Life and Life Plus) is well-tuned and refined for an extremely spirited performance with the responsive 7-speed DSG for city driving. The 2.0L TSI (Elegance and R-Line) is punchy and quite perfect for quick manoeuvres in heavy traffic. So essentially, both engines are highly efficient and known for their reliable performance.

Highway Performance

On highways, the Tiguan does an outstanding job as well, with the 2.0L TSI’s 200 hp (R-Line) giving robust acceleration whenever you overtake. The 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system (R-Line) improves stability; similarly, the 1.4L TSI is sufficient as well but might feel a little less responsive at high speeds.

Ride and Handling

This SUV undoubtedly is great to handle, which we experienced big time during our tests across driving conditions in the UAE. Be it city, highway or regular commute, the Tiguan never really shows any weakness in moving through challenging times. In fact, we are impressed with a balanced ride, with soft suspension on the Life trim nicely absorbing road conditions. The R-Line’s sporty build-up and bigger wheels enhance handling but firm up the ride, making it a real delight on twisty roads.
