Toyota Yaris hits the milestone of 10 million global sales

ABU DHABI: The Japanese automaker Toyota has added another model to its list of fast-selling cars such as RAV4, Hilux, Corolla, Camry and Land Cruiser. Toyota Yaris has become the sixth model from the brand to surpass ten million global sales. Throughout twenty-five years of production, the innovative spirit has helped Yaris gain the status of one of Toyota’s best-selling models in the world. 

Over the past twenty-five years, the Yaris has been a pioneer in the introduction of new concepts and technologies in the compact car segment. Toyota Yaris has been produced over four different generations. 

The first-generation model was first introduced in Japan in 1999. It was replaced with an all-new version in 2005. A more performance-focused version named the Yaris TS was introduced in 2006. Toyota then revolutionized the automobile industry with the third-generation Yaris that came in a full hybrid powertrain option. The fourth-generation Yaris was introduced in 2020. It has more efficient engine options and is underpinned by the Toyota Global Architecture GA-B platform.

The Yaris GR Sport was the 10 millionth unit of the Toyota Yaris. The brand recently launched the all-new Toyota Vios which has made the public very excited.

Yaris Sedan was launched in the UAE in 2018. As per the 2022 UAE non-luxury annual car market report, Toyota emerged as the most popular automobile maker in the non-luxury segment. The Toyota Yaris 2023 sedan has been launched in the UAE and exudes an all-new, sportier look. It has a slicked-back profile and looks more dynamic than some of its predecessors. It is slightly wider and longer than previous models and is roomier inside the cabin.
