Mercedez-Benz to launch GLE Coupe and Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ at Frankfurt Motor Show

The Mercedez-Benz GLE Coupe and Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ have been revealed, and they will be making their debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in the next month. Both the models shall have six-cylinder petrol or diesel and petrol engine when they will be launching in spring 2020. These models will receive a future plug-in hybrid version in the future for sure.

Speaking of the two new models, Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH said, "The new GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe adds even more style and elegance to our SUV family, together with hallmark AMG features such as the brand-specific radiator grille. The attractive Coupe lines envelop sophisticated suspension technology and our powerful, efficient six-cylinder in-line engine with 48-volt technology. Both guarantee a thrilling driving experience in terms of longitudinal and lateral dynamics." The chief designer of  Daimler AG, Gorden Wagener, said that the GLE is a unique blend between the power of an on and off-road vehicles coupled with sportiveness and elegance of the coup. 

The GLE coupe will come with either a 350d or 400d six-cylinder diesel motor while the AMG version sports 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol mill that will give 435 hp. Another 22 horsepower will be generated for the EQ boost. The wind resistance has also increased by 11 percent compared to the earlier model of the GLE and the company has also updated the chassis for a superior driving experience. The following changes alongside the addition with the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ coupe trim, show the eagerness of Mercedez to sauce up the sportiness of the car. 

Apart from the GLE and the GLS, Benz will also build the GLE Coupe in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Mercedez-Benz offers eight different variables that include the GLA, GLC, GLC Coupe, the G-Class, and the new GLB. The SUVs give one-third of the total sales of the carmaker and this particular SUV also plays a crucial role in the Mercedez-Benz portfolio.
