The EXP 15, which was showcased inside its brand-new design studio, is not destined for production, but with its features, there is a hint at the future of Bentley’s electric vehicles, which includes its first all-electric production car due in 2026.
Exterior Built on Five Key Design Principles
The EXP 15 showcases the future design language of Bentley, using five guiding principles:
- Upright elegance: There is a front-end silhouette that shows a gentle curve, similar to a racehorse at rest.
- Iconic grille: It maintains the signature grille of Bentley, with advanced LED detailing.
- Endless bonnet line: It has a long unbroken bonnet line that gives room for storage instead of a large engine.
- Resting beast: It has muscular rear haunches with a balanced stance that mirrors the classic proportions of Bentley.
- Prestigious shield: There is a large, clean rear surface that echoes vintage luggage compartments, now paired with diamond-quilted LED rear lights.
Crafted Exterior with Modern Flair
The muscular form and clean lines of the EXP 15 are finished in a satin Pallas Gold paint, and incorporate a thin aluminium pigment that allows radar and lidar signals to pass through.
It has active aero spoilers and an illuminated diamond-patterned grille to help bring the signature design of Bentley into the high-tech age. Headlights are four vertical light strips that frame the outline of the car, while diamond-mesh rear lights add style and aerodynamic performance.
A Unique Three-Seat, Three-Door Layout
On the inside, the most radical feature of the EXP 15 is its three-seat, three-door configuration. The passenger side has twin upward-opening coach doors and a panoramic roof for easy access.
The front passenger seat swivels 45 degrees outward for elegant exits, and offers Co-pilot, Standard, and Relax modes. Footrests fold into the floor to offer extra space for pets or luggage. The boot reveals pop-out seating, a lamp, and a drinks fridge for outdoor events.
Material Innovation and Interior Personalisation
The cabin merges traditional British craftsmanship with modern technology. Fox Brothers wool in a damson ombre blends with 3D-printed titanium accents. It has a silk that was jacquard from Gainsborough mills and woven metal mesh, which creates a glowing “active 3D quilt” effect.
The dashboard can act as a full digital display or reveal wood beneath the glass. There is also a centerpiece device called the “Mechanical Marvel” that blends analog and digital functions into a striking visual.
