Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe to arrive with multiple engine options

ABU DHABI: Mercedes-Benz, the global auto marque, will bring a relatively inexpensive coupe in the ASIAN countries soon, with multiple engine options. The German auto manufacturing company plans to stuff the luxury coupe with as many as 3 engine options, namely, the C300, AMG C 43, and most probably also the AMG C 63.

It is not confirmed yet by the auto company if the Mercedes-Benz UAE plans to launch the entire range separately or together. It is believed that the auto company will do the launching in parts.

The Mercedes-Benz C Class Coupe with C300 engine option derives its power from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The engine can churn out around 252 bhp and a peak torque of 370 Nm. The second variant, Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC Coupe, draws its power from a 3.0-litre V6 powertrain. This engine can generate a maximum power of 385 bhp and a peak torque reading 520 Nm. The top engine variant, Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe, is driven by a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine that can be availed in two power options - one is 469 bhp and the other reads 503 bhp.

The top speed of the second variant is electronically limited to 250 kmph, while that of the top-spec model features a maximum speed of 290 kmph. The motor of the AMG C 43 is coupled with the AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission, and on the other hand, the AMG C 63 model is paired with the AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic transmission.

The Coupe will feature the horizontal tail lamps, which is the signature Mercedes-Benz tail design. The vehicle portrays a macho look with prominent drawn-in front C-pillars, diamond grille, and portrays an aggressive front bumper with an array of vents and intakes for ensuring the best equation of aerodynamics and cooling. LED headlamps and taillamps add to the look of the car. The 19-inch AMG wheels are optional.

The interior of the car oozes luxury with hi-tech gadgets and gizmos. The C-Coupe is a 2+2 Coupe, permitting 4 people inside. The interior features horizontally positioned LCD screen and a huge panoramic roof. Much detailed information is missing though.

The Coupe is expected to reach Indian shore in the last quarter of the calendar. The price might range from 350,000 - 430,000 UAE Dirhams.
