Mercedes has revealed the new CLA Shooting Brake estate. The third-generation CLA family of automobiles is being pushed in new and exciting directions by this elegant and incredibly dynamic electric variant.
It is Mercedes's first estate car that is exclusively an electric vehicle. It also demonstrates Mercedes' ongoing commitment to electric vehicles.
Design That Goes Beyond Conventional
From the front to the A-pillar, the Shooting Brake's appearance is similar to that of the CLA sedan, including the compact design and distinctive upper light strip. With oval-shaped taillight graphics and an extended roofline that flows into a sloping back window, it nevertheless makes a statement about its personality.
The Mercedes-Benz emblem is located on the grille beneath, and there is a linked LED headlight arrangement up front with tri-star DRL characteristics. The 2025 CLA Shooting Brake comes with a closed-off panel with 142 lighted stars embedded in it or a traditional grille, depending on the version.
While the mildly disguised models demonstrate how subtle sporting elegance can be, aluminium trimmings on the slim roof rails and frameless doors indicate a luxury finish. The overall design is bold without being clunky, unlike most SUVs.
Retractable door handles and aero-optimised alloy wheels are features found on the side. The rounded rear section also features a roof spoiler with an integrated stop lamp, a smooth gloss black bumper, and connected LED tail-lamps with tri-star insignia.
Aerodynamic improvements increase efficiency in addition to aesthetics. The Shooting Brake has a range advantage over fastback sedans because of its larger roof, which improves airflow and lowers drag. According to Mercedes, the electric models would have a range of up to 761 kilometres (472 miles).
Hybrid and Electric - Two Personas in a Single Package
Mercedes' innovative MMA architecture, which supports both electric and hybrid powertrain systems, serves as the foundation for the CLA. The CLA 250+ with rear-wheel drive and the CLA 350 4MATIC with all-wheel drive are the two all-electric versions of the car that will be available at launch.
Both models utilise an 85-kWh battery that can be charged at 800 volts and accept up to 320 kW of DC input. This enables home charging with a regular connection and a CCS-to-NACS adaptor, adding around 323 km of range in just 10 minutes.
The 350 AWD adds a front motor for a total of 354 hp, while the electric 250+ produces roughly 272 hp. The flagship model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in about 4.8 seconds.
With a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 27-hp electric motor mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, hybrid vehicles are expected to arrive later. The output of hybrid versions will range from 136 to 190 hp with optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
Interior Comfort and Space - Redefining Luxury and Practicality
The dashboard of the 2025 CLA Shooting Brake has a triple-screen arrangement that includes a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a 14-inch central infotainment system, and an optional 14-inch passenger display. The high-end MB.OS infotainment system is driven by AI MBUX and has features like eye-tracking.
Customers who choose not to use the passenger screen are given a panel with lit star-pattern graphics, and those who do can play games and stream films and TV series.
Additionally, the CLA Shooting Brake has a huge panoramic glass roof with thermally insulated glass to minimise the impact of summer sunlight and reduce heat loss in winter.
For the first time in Mercedes' history, the glass roof has integrated ambient lighting and can be turned from clear to opaque with a single button press. The 158 stars in the glass, which can glow in different colors, are illuminated by LED units that run from the front panel.
One of its most notable features is the cargo space. A front trunk (sometimes known as a "frunk") adds 101 liters of utility space, and the vehicle's 455 liter trunk capacity can be increased to 1,290 liters by folding the back seats. Whether for daily chores or weekly errands, these numbers make it far more useful than the car.

The 2025 CLA Shooting Brake is scheduled to be launched in the European market in March 2026. It is also expected to go on sale in the Middle East.
