Zeekr 9X Makes Circuit Debut at Yas Marina Track Day

At Yas Marina Circuit, the Zeekr 9X SUV ran against supercars. The super-hybrid flagship puts out more than 1,400 hp.

Zeekr UAE and its partner AWR Automotive held a track event at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit on 24 June 2026. Two anniversaries at once: two years in the country, five years globally. Over 200 owners and media guests attended, getting an early look at the Zeekr 9X, the brand's new full-size SUV.

Yas Marina Track Day

On 24 June 2026, Yas Marina Circuit hosted more than 200 attendees: existing Zeekr owners, media, and regional opinion leaders. AWR Automotive and Zeekr built the day around multiple dynamic zones. Guests drove the full circuit, ran drag races on the official strip, and took part in professional drift sessions. The Zeekr 7X featured too, with circuit drives and drift ride-alongs on offer. Owners closed the day with a parade lap on the full Grand Prix layout, each in their own car.

The 1,400+ HP Super-Hybrid

The Zeekr 9X's powertrain took centre stage. Zeekr calls the system the world's first luxury super-hybrid built on a pure electric platform; three electric motors combine to produce more than 1,400 hp. On the drag strip, Zeekr ran the full-size, three-row SUV against established supercars in straight-line acceleration runs. Numbers only go so far. Zeekr also confirmed a combined range of more than 1,250 km and a charging time of around nine minutes from 20 to 80 per cent state of charge.

9X as Flagship Statement

Zeekr chose a Grand Prix circuit for the 9X reveal. Performance credentials sit alongside the luxury spec here, not beneath it. Up front, the bodywork includes the largest integrated grille fitted to any SUV, a full clam-shell bonnet, a yacht-style roofline, and the SEA Star Diamond matrix lighting system. Inside, a 16-inch central touchscreen pairs with a dedicated front-passenger screen; both run the Zeekr AI OS. Nappa leather upholstery, natural solid wood trim, and a suede-wrapped headliner cover the three-row cabin. Floating Cloud seats add zero-gravity, recliner, swivel, and massage modes. A 32-speaker Naim Signature audio system rounds off the interior.
