Abu Dhabi: Volkswagen Group has unveiled one of the most aggressive product strategies in its history at Auto China 2026. Showcasing the new electric vehicles, China-specific development, and next-generation agentic AI technology. VW is betting big on battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and advanced intelligent technologies. With more than 20 new electrified vehicles planned for launch in China in 2026 alone, and expanding it to 50 models by 2030. Volkswagen premiered the following four models with a range of other reveals, showing a glimpse of the brand’s electric future:
Volkswagen ID. UNYX 09
The ID. UNYX 09 is a 5-meter-long electric sedan co-developed with Chinese EV company Xpeng. This fully electric mid-size SUV is built on the locally developed China Electronic Architecture (CEA). Its key features include:

ID. AURA T6
The ID. AURA T6 is a mid-size electric SUV built on a new China Electronic Architecture (CEA). It is highly aligned with the UAE consumer demand, where SUVs with luxury and family practicality dominate the market. Its key highlights include the: 
- Advanced L2 assisted driving
- Continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates
- CARIZON’s ADAS solution
JETTA X
The Volkswagen sub-brand JETTA revealed the JETTA X Concept at the Beijing auto show. Its exterior showcases the Modern Robust” design language of JETTA with boxy, crossover-SUV stance and a refreshed logo. JEETA is also planning the rollout of four NEV models by 2028. Key highlights include:

AUDI E7X

This premium large electric SUV offers spacious, intelligent interiors, powerful variants with up to 500 kW system output, and quattro all-wheel drive. It is based on the Advanced Digitized Platform and is set to introduce Level 3 highly automated driving capabilities. 
Volkswagen’s “Agentic AI” Cars
Apart from the vehicle showcases, the Agentic AI roadmap was Volkswagen’s biggest announcement. Volkswagen is positioning itself as a “Global Automotive Tech Driver” with its Agentic AI for All roadmap. Starting in the second half of 2026, vehicles on the CEA platform will feature onboard AI Agents powered by a locally trained large language model. These models understand user intent, coordinate multiple vehicle systems, and handle complex tasks through natural conversation. Further, with the China Electronic Architecture (CEA) 2.0 from the year 2027, it integrates intelligent driving and cockpit functions with multi-agent AI for more intuitive, software-defined vehicles.
