Ford finally releases power figures for 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500

ABU DHABI: Ford has finally released the power figures for 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500. The eight-cylinder engine delivers a maximum power of 770 PS and a peak torque of 847 Nm, as stated by Ford. The car, which was launched six months ago, is the most powerful street-legal and Mustang-based high-performance model. It has a top speed of nearly 290 kmph. Along with that, the company has also claimed that the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 can score a sub-11 second quarter mile time with ease.

When compared to its closest rivals, the Dodge SRT Hellcat Redeye, and Chevy Camaro ZL1, the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 gives an impressive performance. It stood second in terms of power delivery, taking the line after Dodge SRT Hellcat Redeye, which delivers over 800 PS of power along with a maximum torque of 958 Nm. On the other end, the Chevy Camaro ZL1, which is armed with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine, outputs a maximum power of 650 PS along with a peak torque of 881 Nm.

Ford has given special attention to the aerodynamics of the car. A revised front fascia boosts the drivetrain cooling capacity up to 50 percent. The optional Carbon Fiber Track Package adds a much larger rear wing, helping to deal with wind blasts. Furthermore, the car houses quad exhaust muffles. There is also a noise-cancelling system in the cabin for extra comfort.

The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 comes with a 5.2-litre supercharged V8 engine. The mill is further paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The car is about to go on sale pretty soon in the US. Meanwhile, we cannot wait to see it competing with other similar models.
