2025 Volvo XC90 debuts with advanced tech and new looks

ABU DHABI: In the luxury SUV market, the Volvo XC90 has been the leader for a decade, renowned for its outstanding features, safety, and elegance. While German competitors have gone through many redesigns, Volvo has only made small updates. However, for 2025, the XC90 has received the second styling update in 10 years.

The refreshed Volvo XC90 will be offered alongside the new EX90, as Volvo has abandoned its initial plan to cease production of petrol cars by the end of the decade. The 2025 model comes with refreshed rear and front designs, incorporating styling elements from the EX30 and EX90, including new bumpers, slimmer headlights, and revised tail-light internals.

The 2025 Volvo XC90 retains its signature safety and comfort features with a few updates. The dashboard is now more horizontal and taller, the 11.2-inch infotainment screen features a floating design, and new storage solutions have been added to the transmission tunnel. Additionally, the cabin incorporates more soft-touch and textured materials for an enhanced interior experience.

The Volvo XC90 facelift comes with a slightly detuned plug-in hybrid drivetrain, producing a total system output of 455 PS. Apart from that, the SUV is available in two 48-volt mild hybrid engines. 

Production of the refreshed Volvo XC90 will begin in Sweden in late 2024, with deliveries expected to start shortly after. There is no information yet regarding the launch of this model in the UAE.
