ABU DHABI: Volvo Cars is setting new goals for 2030 and 2040 and expanding its sustainability strategy. As an initiative to redefine the electric vehicle landscape, the automaker has announced that it will open up a new facility dedicated to manufacturing its next-gen premium electric vehicles.

    CEO Jim Rowan explained that the carmaker aims to attract global talent, foster collaboration, and pioneer technology with cutting-edge businesses. While Volvo has not disclosed any details about the specific electric car models that are slated for production at the Mobility Innovation Destination Torslanda, the focus remains on innovation and the use of cutting-edge technologies within the automotive industry.

    In the UAE, Volvo offers both fully electric and plug-in hybrid models, mirroring its electrification strides seen globally. Popular models in this lineup include the EX30, XC40 Recharge,  XC90 Recharge and XC60 Recharge plug-in hybrid.
