2024 Skoda Octavia debuts with sustainability and technology upgrades

ABU DHABI: The all-new Skoda Octavia facelift receives a mid-life update to cater to the evolving needs of car enthusiasts. It boasts even greater performance capabilities than before, a refreshed exterior design and updated tech. 

The facelifted Skoda Octavia looks distinct with a bold front bumper crease and angular LED headlights that will remind you of the Czech flag. The side profile looks identical to the pre-facelift version, though it now comes with new dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, it features a new 13-inch infotainment touchscreen that can be easily integrated as a voice assistant with ChatGPT AI. Enhanced charging options have also been provided, with the 'Phone Box' now offering wireless charging up to 15W alongside improved USB-C connections that deliver fast charging up to 45W. However, the physical interface options are limited due to the absence of 'smart dial' control limits.

Under the skin, various tweaks have been made to enhance the efficiency of the vehicle, with the 1.5-litre entry-level engine receiving a reworked turbocharger. It offers options of a 48V mild-hybrid system along with a seven-speed dual-clutch or six-speed manual gearbox for enhanced fuel efficiency. 

Additionally, the 1.5-litre engine’s 150 hp version is available with similar mild-hybrid technology and gearbox options as the entry-level version. The top-tier vRS variant is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine that delivers 265 hp and 370 Nm, mated with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Skoda currently offers Scala Hatchback, Octavia, Superb Sedans and Kushaq, Kushaq Monte Carlo, and Kamiq SUVs in the UAE.
