2020 Toyota Corolla has officially arrived in UAE

ABU DHABI: Toyota’s best selling saloon car, Corolla has finally entered to a new generation with its 2020 model, which has arrived in the UAE market. For the first time, the car has come in a hybrid version for this region. Although the hybrid version is available only in saloon body shape, the hatchback version of the car will be imported.

The carmaker had showcased the saloon earlier this week and stated that it is based on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. And as a result, the structural rigidity of the car is improved. Besides improvement in design, the platform also offers multi-link suspension along with bringing enhanced handling, steadiness and comfort.

As mentioned earlier, the 2020 Corolla comes with a big surprise by having a hybrid version. It has two electric motors, which provide a maximum power of 97 hp power. The hybrid system also arms a 1.6-litre petrol mill. The entire layout outputs a maximum power of 168 hp and is paired with an E-CVT (Electrically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission).

Moreover, the car also comes with two other drivetrain options. The first among these is a newly developed 2.0-litre Dynamic Force mill that can churn out a maximum power of 168 hp. It uses a D-4S fuel injection system and is paired with a 10-speed Sequential Shiftmatic transmission. While the other being a 1.6-litre unit, which can push out a maximum power of 121 hp.

Getting inside the car, the 2020 Toyota Corolla features a wide range of equipment, including a one-touch moonroof, a seven-inch touchscreen multimedia infotainment system, reverse camera, and cruise control.

As for the pricing, the coaster’s base price is AED 71,900, while for the HEV Corolla one has to pay at least AED 83,900.
