MG Cyberster 2026: Fresh Look and New Tech for Electric Roadster

Abu Dhabi : MG’s electric convertible, the Cyberster, is coming back with the 2026 model with new colors, comfort features, and upgrades in tech.

MG has announced a refreshed version of its electric sports convertible, the Cyberster, for the 2026 model year. They revealed the updates at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, just two years after launch.

The 2026 MG Cyberster, which they will release in China on June 30, has a blend of sportiness, smart design, and more comfort. The focus of the new version is on refining the driver experience while keeping the fun spirit of the car alive.

Exterior Updates and New Variants

The overall design of the 2026 Cyberster is still familiar even though it now has two new colors: Iris Green and Andes Gray.

These options will help buyers to personalise their cars even more. Iris Green was earlier seen on the Cyber GTS coupe. There is also a new special Black Edition, which features an all-black paint job and glossy alloy wheels to add a bold edge to the looks of the roadster.

Improved Interior Comfort

MG has introduced two new color themes (black with red and grey with white) inside the cabin. With these options, there is a higher sense of luxury and a clean, modern feeling. The driver and passenger now get electric lumbar support to help make long drives more relaxing.

There is a new wind deflector that also helps improve comfort during open-top drives. These changes stand together to make the Cyberster feel more refined without losing its sporty edge.

Top Enhancements at a Glance

The 2026 Cyberster gets a few new features with the aim of making daily driving smoother:

• A larger trunk for extra space.
• Convertible top counter which shows the status of roof in real-time.
• New sound effects to help enhance in-car experience.
• Improved voice control system to easily make commands.

These small but meaningful updates show that MG is focusing on everyday use, even for a sports convertible.

Strong Performance Backed by Better Software

The 2026 model still has two electric powertrains:

• 335 hp (250 kW) rear-wheel-drive motor.
• 536 hp (400 kW) dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.

These deliver quick acceleration and fun handling, with newly tuned chassis software supporting them.

With this update, there's an improved range, power delivery, and ride comfort. Battery options are still 64 kWh and 77 kWh, which give a driving range of 501 to 580 km under the CLTC standard.

Availability and Market Reach

The Cyberster currently costs between 319,800 and 365,800 yuan (about $44,500 to $50,900 USD) in China. The prices of the updated model are coming soon. MG has confirmed that the 2026 refresh will roll out to international markets later this year, including the UK.
