Ford launches all-new 2019 Edge ST

ABU DHABI: Ford has recently launched its all-new 2019 Edge ST in the country. The company has also recently launched the Edge series with a robust presence and engine to match. It is likely to be the first SUV tuned by the Ford Performance team. The Director of product marketing, Ford, stated that “The all-new Edge ST is a performance SUV with a track mentality”. 

A V6 twin-turbocharged finely tuned 2.7-litre EcoBoost motor is dropped in the engine bay, which is capable of pumping out 449 hp of max power and 515 Nm of peak torque. With such figures, it will be tough for the rivals to compete in the hot crossover segment. Adding to the power figures is a quick-shifting eight-speed automatic gearbox along with the standard all-wheel drive and selectable traction control. 

If you want better performance, Blue Oval has given the option of upgrading to ST-tuned sport suspension and a performance brake package. Ford Edge GT flaunts an aggressive styling with the fresh styling cues appearing on both ends of the coaster along with a wide grille for better cooling, dual-exhaust outlets, large 21-inch alloys, and deep side skirts. 

For the 2019 model, the brand has added Co-Pilot Assist as standard. It now includes a variety of active and passive safety features such as pre-collision assist, lane keep assist, blind spot information system and cross-traffic alert. 

Moving on to the infotainment system, it features an 8-inch touchscreen, premium audio system, and a wireless charging pad as standard with all the other common gadgets. Ford has not disclosed the exact pricing, but you can get your hands on through the official Ford dealerships in the UAE.
